True, but I'm looking for folks/bands who most people would recognize if asked on the street (for example) If I would take some Swedish examples (Even though Sweden is much bigger than Hull) and it's cheating..... Ibrahimovic Basshunter Alfred Nobel (The Nobel Prize) Robyn Europe (Rock band, final countdown, etc) The Skarsgård Family (Actors) ABBA Etc etc I would guess that most of you recognize at least 3-4 of them. But yeah, it's cheating considering that Sweden has 9 million inhabitants compared with Hulls 260 thousand or such. I'l have to settle with your suggestions
Mine were all modern... do you not get NME, The Apprentice and Peep Show in Sweden? Derren Litten is from Hull - wrote The Catherine Tate Show and Benidorm. Oliver Stokes is a young actor from Hull who plays Michael in Benidorm too.
I play poker myself and I know its very big with the Skandies, Devilfish is famous worldwide especially here and USA
To people who enjoy rock music Mick Ronson is respected world wide, it annoys me greatly that people think Hulls only musical export is that turd Paul Heaton (who doesnât even really acknowledge his Hull roots) when we have Ronson who is a genuine legend.
I'm surprised you don't know Mick Ronson Febbos, he's regarded as one of the best guitarists ever. The master in action........
I suppose it's because I'm Swedish..... Never heard of NME, Peep show, Benidorm or the Catherine Tate show. I have seen The Apprentice, but only the US-version.
Yeah, pretty random that I haven't heard of Ronson before I guess (more or less my genre, even though I'm more into the newer stuff).
The fact,Devil Fish came from Hull is something we should really be keeping quiet. I know him, trust me he is a complete Cock. Someone quickly disprove he's from Hull !
I've got to agree, have you seen the monstrosity he drives round in. He certainly wants people to know it's him.
His accent is pure Southport (or was - cos if you hear him now - he's definitely had elocution lessons!).
