Think it is supposed to cover all sports. Although the tag line on the cover suggests otherwise.

I've only seen their biography, not bought the thing.

What was our benchmark fanzine, always liked TOSS better than Amber Nectar.

Which was the one featuring Tubby Lard of the Bullyvard - was that OCS? That was my fave anyway.

With all due respect to Craig, I far preferred TOSS before it changed to CityIndependent.

I still have a few kicking around.

Prior to that there were a few; Hull, Hell and Happiness stands out. Wasn't there one with Cloud in the name also (Oh yeah, OCS: On cloud seven). Vaguely recall the popular ones being done by Andy Medcalf.

Someone was waving them about trying to sell them on the bridge going the ground last night
Ignored them out of habit really (never buy anything that someone seems desperate to sell!)

There is a poster on here who can give you all the details of them as he wrote a good percentage of them.
3 o' clock at the Kempton was always a good one.

From memory: TOSS was Ian Farrow and Chris Warkup. CI added Craig Elyard to Farrow and Warkup.

3 o'clock was Paul Cockerton (now works at Daily Mirror).

Hull City fans led the way with some excellent fanzines. Starting with Hull, Hell @ Happiness in the mid 80's. Fc and HKR ( flag edge touch) copied the idea and format some years later but were no way near the standard or quality of a string of superb independent publications put together by City fans over the years.

HH@H was the work of Withernsea based City fans Andy Medcalf, Richard Lusmore and Gary Hook. They also branched out with 'Last Train from Boothferry Halt', 'From Hull to Eternity' and were behind a host of others.
On Cloud Seven was a Paul Cockerton publication featuring the hilarious and never mentioned in the local media, Tubby Lard of the Boulevard.
Lesser known but worthy of a mention is Tiger Eye, the fanzine/newsletter of the Southern Tigers, edited by Chris Douglas.
Hull Fanatic in comparison is awful.

I was in Hull for the Burton game and bought one, didn't think it was too bad tbh. I particularly enjoyed the back page with its instructions from our beloved leaders. One said, "Hull Tigers did not get relegated last year. We were simply a victim of Premier League restructuring." Or words to that effect. I believe it has potential and hopefully will improve as time goes on. Cheers to all. Dubs

Tubby Lard, whose article parodying a Waggy reminiscence was a classic. Asw was his one quoting .Terry Dolan's mother.

The standard of letters in the HDM has never been as good as when the likes of Tubby Lard, E G Chaser, S Holmes and PC Nesbit, who resided in Letsby Avenue, were airing their views on local matters.

Paul Lighthouse, Sandy Beach, Tom Watson ( always answered by Mr. S Holmes) quite recently Arthur Keegan......those were the days.
The one from a M Fish of North Ferriby which was the lead letter in the Yorkshire Sport was a classic. Highlighting all the clubs Terry Dolan had been employed by and their following relegations. Fish threatened legal action over that one.
Someone once told me that a T Dolan had applied for the mangers job at North Ferriby, and they were not sure if it was a spoof or not ( it was) 'I am perfect for the role as I live locally.....'
The Golden era of fanzines and the printed word........
