No not me...Me and our lass have just been for our lunch at the Seaburn restaurant and most of the Sunderland 1st team squad were sitting at the tables next to us. Moyes wasn't there though. They seemed to be all getting along and in good spirits..
I think I was expecting it to be better than it actually was. There was 6 of us and none of us are in a hurry to go back. We left a tip for the waitress but knocked the additional ten percent off the bill.
Last Sat was my second visit. I wasnt impressed with it the first time I went either but my lass wanted to go again so i gave it another chance. The menus massive and its hard to comprehend what the meals gona be like that your ordering unless your a Thai food expert. Its abit like a lucky dip.
The food was all right. I have been there on the night before when you pay full price and it better. But for 3 courses for £10 it was well worth it..
I told them on the way in it was my lasses birthday (which was true), in the hope wed get a free Cocktail or something. The Waitress said "no problem well sort something out for her". Happy days or so I thought. After the meal they bought her a little cake out with a Candle that neither of us ate. When we got the Bill i noticed theyd charged me 6 quid for it the Bastards .
I have been thinking about giving the place a try, more for its seaside location than anything, l will still go, but thanks for the information.
Is it no good? There's one in Newcastle and I've always been intrigued by it.... Tempted to go but it's hardly got raving reviews on here...
Its ok, nice food but generally small portions and slow staff. There is huge competition for restaurants in Newcastle, I would recommend Red Mezze up near the ground or As You Like It in Jesmond, both have very tasty food at great value.
Id give it a go if i was you. I hear alot more good things said about it than bad, and like i said i thought it was very nice on my last visit.
I had spicy chicken dumplings for starters, Malaysian Chicken Curry with fried rice for main and pineapple and coconut ice cream for afters.
