Watched a docu-film last night .... East End Babylon - it charted the rise and fall of the Cockney Rejects, it's a brilliant 'tale of the times', if only half of what was portrayed is the truth, they certainly walked the walk. It's excellent viewing for the nostalgia buffs and a real eye opener for the youngsters.
Watched Lion last night. It's a moving true story, the first twenty minutes or so are subtitled but the rest is in English. 8/10.
I watched Rise Of The Foot Soldier II last night. Part two of the story of Carlton Leach, the West Ham ICF bloke who became a gangland enforcer. Badly acted, ridiculously over the top storyline (despite the fact it's supposed to be based on real events) and generally a complete waste of time. Avoid.
Yesterday morning I watched Storks with my youngest Grandson. It was okay; birds with teeth is always a good sign for a laugh. It is worth watching just for the wolf pack; whoever came up with them was definitely smoking something ...
Watched Lion last night. Not usually the kind of film I'd go to the cinema to see and normally award nominations put me off. I thought it was excellent. I am a cold cold person when it comes to films (my wife is desperate to find a film that will make me cry) but this one did stir a little bit of something I believe normal people call emotion. It was a well acted great moving story. The fact it is based on a true story just makes in more touching.
It was all right. The film is truely remarkable. It leaves you exhausted, it convinces you in everyway, it is a true story that is simply incredible.
Watched the Seven Five (or maybe Seventy Five) on Netflix. True story about a copper in the 80's in Brooklyn who started stealing from criminals and ended up as a drug dealer before getting caught Really good watch
Aye, Al gave it a thumbs up too. Will give it a go, but not my normal fodder. Just watching Bon Jovi, not a band I have bought, but decent tight set.
Going to see it next Thursday on a day out in Sydney. Waiting for Hacksaw Ridge to come up here in a week or so.
That is genuinely useful I was considering watching it, but couldn't decide if it would be brilliant or absolutely ****e. I think your in the second camp?
Been to see ' the Great Wall ' With the grandson today, Cashier was ****ing annoyed When I asked for my money Back on the way out... I said I won't be the last...
Woke up and couldn't go back to sleep in the wee hours of t'other night and watched Australia with Jackman and Kidman on TV as there was nowt else. It wasn't very good but unfortunately, not boring enough to put me back to sleep.
