As disconnected as Rupes was, he didn't try to destroy us. He's not in the same bracket as so many owners we witness these days. Hope Cov get some good news in the coming months, they were so similar to us during the 90's, just shows what a wrong turn can do.
No indeed. I'm not so biased that I would accuse him of that, though some would have at the time. He did several good things, but his presence at the club meant that not a penny of investment came in from outside. Peculiarly, Nicola Cortese had his investment eye on us for a few years, for Markus Liebherr, before the club went into administration. What a shame they couldn't have come in earlier! Never mind, that's carping. The real alternative history doesn't bear thinking about and I'm just bloody thankful they came in when they did. Little did we know what a quick change they'd bring, despite the multi-billionaire status.
Did I hear correctly that the Skate fans response to a Luton player suffering a broken leg, was to chant "You are going home in an ambulance". Nice people. Luton's McGeehan breaks leg - then gets booked Football Posted at13:02 Luton midfielder Cameron McGeehan broke his leg during Monday's 1-0 loss to Portsmouth - and was then booked for pounding the floor in pain or frustration afterwards. McGeehan was injured in the 16th minute of the League Two match and was shown a yellow card while being stretchered off the pitch. Pompey fans reportedly sang "you're going home in an ambulance" to the 21-year-old, who has scored 11 goals in 28 matches for League Two side Luton this term. Portsmouth chose not to respond directly to Jones' comments, but a spokesman said everyone at the club sends their best wishes to McGeehan for a full and speedy recovery.
Luton's McGeehan breaks leg - then gets booked _______________________________________________ Yeah, saw this. The guy obviously knows he's just been done & his leg is broke. So he's pointing at the ref and getting very upset and pretty verbal. Ref comes over and books him while he's on the ground. Then, as he's leaving the pitch on a stretcher the pompey fans start chanting; 'You're going home in a ambulance.' Not a nice incident at all.
League One side Northampton Town have appointed Justin Edinburgh as the club's new manager on a two-and-a-half year contract. What happened to Nigel then?
Some very pleasant news today, Dave Jones has taken the Hartlepool job. Hope he does really well, I'll be keeping a beedy out for him.
Absolutely. I hope he is a roaring success and gets his footballing reputation restored. He did a great job for us.
Read his book last year, still find it hard to believe or understand how the cps treated him. Disgraceful.
He was one of the first to be caught up in the believe all complainants regardless of other evidence. However, look at all the guilty people who got away with it for years because kids/women weren't believed. Glad I don't have to make these decisions. Hopefully, the balance will now be achieved where you listen to complaints and investigate, but don't let it drag on in the face of no real evidence. Sometimes that may mean the guilty get away, but better that than the innocent get persecuted. Hope this works out for Dave.
