While some games in the Super League are televised, and there's the Women's Super League show which provides highlights of games, the problem is the WPL receives almost no national media coverage (despite the many complaints I've sent to the BBC) and this match last year got little media coverage as well. So unless the media are willing to give some coverage to the match, the impact it will have on the profile of the game is very limited. Frankly, I doubt 90% of women's football fans who support a Super League side or attend a Super League matches even know there is a Women's Premier League, and I doubt they knew there was a play-off match taking place. However, I can't blame them because that's understandable due to the lack of coverage, the Premier League is never mentioned even in passing in the Women's Football Show, there's about 1 article a season on the Women's Premier League on BBC Sport even, and it's never mentioned in the Guardian, the Telegraph, etc. It's as if it doesn't exist.

So I get your point and and perhaps it may help the profile to some extent, but unless there's a change within the national media, that will be somewhat limited.

So, hopefully news of exciting play-off games (and even disgruntled losing fans) could reach the media and they might think about giving it some coverage. Small steps.

    Perhaps. Perhaps. Hopefully.

To be honest, I'm not actually sure what will happen after this season because it was initially announced that there would be two places for the Super League, one last season, one this season but nothing about what will come next. Rumour has it the FA will open up the bidding process again but I can't imagine they would add a third Division to the WSL. However, by opening up the bidding process again, that suggests they will be welcoming a host of new teams (last time they welcomed 10). Perhaps they will expand WSL1 to 10 teams, and expand the WSL2 to 16 teams, that would mean 8 more teams could be brought into the Super League.

Surely Portsmouth can't miss out again. They've gotta be one of the top 8 teams in the WPL both on and off the pitch.

Then again, knowing the FA there will be some random new franchises formed out of nowhere like London Bees and Durham last time.

Based on what I know, the 8 teams I'd go for are:

    Charlton Athletic (derby with Millwall)
Brighton & Hove (derby with Portsmouth)
Coventry United (derby with Villa and Birmingham)
    Portsmouth (derby with Brighton)
Nottingham Forest (potential derby with Notts County)
Newcastle (potential derby with Sunderland and also Durham)
Leeds (derby with Sheffield, also they deserve it after missing out twice and getting royally shafted)
Maybe Derby? The Midlands is (and would be) quite well represented so maybe Lewes?

Cherry playing Harlepool tonight, interesting to note (to some!), that they used a Danish charter aircraft to fly up to Tees-side Airport, they are due back at Hurn at 00:55, we will learn who we will get, in the draw tonight hope it is not away to Hartlepool!

Sadly it is not a new problem http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/lo...umber-of-racist-incidents-on-trains-1-6650607

I have no doubt we have a few in our midst that are of the same persuasion.
