For the first time I have been studying the Racing post betting guide for this - as a result I have now narrowed the field down to 22 names From those I have seven who I like the look of the most! Tommy Fleetwood. 25/1 Rickie Fowler. 14/1 Sergio Garcia. 18/1 Adam Scott. 28/1 Mark Leishman. 45/1 Hideki Matsuyama 22/1 Tony Finau 125/1
Schauffele is very good Chaninbar. He's in great form recently as well so fingers crossed for ya there it's a great name, both are Used to be a pro in America called Chip Sullivan, not long gone from the main tour in fact. Only in America eh!
I've backed Schaufelle this timw because I backed him in the last major in play due solely to his awesome name and it turns out he's actually pretty good so had to back him this time round. I've backed Boo Weekley a few times, ridiculous name!
Gone for 4 at decent prices, although Sky are 10 places, odds are slightly shorter. Bet365 are 8 places but better odds. Zach Johnson @ 80s Steve Stricker @ 150s Shane Lowry @ 75s Kevin Kisner @ 125s
J.Rose 18/1 E/W Win T. Fleetwood 9/4 Top 10 Z. Johnson 3/1 Top 20 I. Poulter 13/5 Top 20 H. Matsuyama 23/10 Top 10
Fleetwood. Wtf. Local course, local lad, knows what the weather can do in Merseyside and has a nightmare first round. Get your hair cut kidda. Unbelievable jeff. Long way to go yet but I reckon he'll have the weekend with his Mrs and not playing golf
Pretty much as expected today with the scoring about normal for a calm day 1. Tomorrow, 40mph gusts are forecast and it should really make an interesting leader board going into the weekend. Anything around par for the day would be good shooting if the weather given hits them through the day. Should compact the field nicely going into moving day.
it will make it all the better when you wake up Monday morning and find an extra few quid in the account Bob GL
Speith 9/2 hahaha He may make me look stupid but surely he is way too wild off the tee to be lifting the jug on Sunday
He is making me look stupid. The pros get away with murder though don't they. DJ hooked one miles left of one green yesterday, it hit something in the grandstand and rebounded out on to the green. You and I would be dropping one and taking the penalty!
Well Rambo didn't really take to the course but happy with Speith wager at 14s.Only real threat now looks like Kucher but I think Speith should be able to hold him off and take the claret jug.
Preparing Sunday dinner, beers in the fridge, can't wait for the golf to begin. Jordan to throw it away anybody?????? He's done it before!!!!!! Good luck all, I hope a few of us gets a few quid (Euro) back. (Garcia top 10) please.
Absolutely loving it today. Pressure does incredible things to the mind. Everyone with nothing to lose are killing the course. The two with lots to lose are being killed by the course. So impressed with Rory considering his recent form. He'll be a major threat in two weeks time.
Wasn't Rory plus 5 after 6 holes on day 1? Great fighting spirit to come back from that. Not going to be quite good enough though.
