I read into it that Rafa is getting his way and the control he no doubt wants.

Not saying a bad word against Carr, yes we've bought some duffers who were supposedly his choices but we will never know if they were first choice or second or what. Also he did recommend Sissoko but bear in mind we may have had to suffer him and his dummy spitting antics for a while but boy did we take Levy's eyes out when selling.

There's a story to this outcome. I wonder if we'll hear it.

 

I'm hoping he was pushed, either way it makes no odds. He may have walked because he doesn't like the way Rafa wants to do things which is equally fine by me! Can't see it having much effect on our transfer dealings this summer as I would hope that Rafa already has his targets picked out (could be why Carr has walked if he has). Longer term this is good news for us, Rafa will hopefully have his own scouting team in mind which he is now free to bring in which could lead to a dramatic overhaul of our transfer policy/youth development programme...hopefully for the better

 

Good show. I'd rather Rafa pulls all the strings in terms of the team.

 

We're a bit light in terms of senior figures, though, for a Premier League football club. I'd expect some kind of low-key appointment to reveal everything; doesn't Rafa have a leading scout he tends to work with, but who isn't at the club? Or am I making stuff up again?

 

See ya point mate, and after all that time with Carr I'm happy to take a punt on a fresh approach because last season's buys were drastically different to usual years.

On a serious note I am starting to get very concerned with all the uncertainty surrounding the club. The lack of transfers and now this. Why was it not at the end of last season. Why wait this long to appoint new scouts. When that actually happens. More questions than answers for me atm.

 

I thought this. Why 21st June? Why not May? And shortly after Ashley brought his asset stripper in, barely days after the Chinese rumour appeared??

I'm not sure about this at all. As it stands we have an MD...and no other senior figurehead. Rafa's in charge of things, sure, but there's got to be more than one bloke with him.
