If Stewart's fit I'd play a 433 with meyler Stewart clucas then grosicki and Bowen either side of Campbell
And so it begins. The starting XI for the season is a decent team. Injury free - probably mid-table. But because this is football and not tiddlywinks, players get injured. All of a sudden we're looking even lighter up front and one of our utility players is out now for 4-6 weeks. Add into this the inevitable Dawson injury that is due any time now and we'll be down to bare bones by September. And the worst thing about it is that it was all so predictable !
Can't be long before he considers this. We're leaking goals playing this open way with almost a front four. It's a nice change from being always tight but never scoring as we usually are, but at some point he's surely gonna go a bit more defensive. Maybe not having Hernandez available will force his hand anyway.
I remember Ehab looking like a right smug **** in an interview after SB left saying that we had loads of long term injuries whilst SB was here and since he's left we don't have the same issue. Tw@t
Tough break for Henrik, just when he was starting to get a run in the team. I still think he's more of a number 10 and that's where he'll be most effective.
What is it with todays footballers? What a load of wimps, no wonder us old un's miss the days of Bert Trautman's broken in neck whilst playing in a cup final for Man City, or the many centre halves with bandages around their profusely bleeding heads, or the many tackles that were brushed aside from the likes of Norman Hunter, Nobby Styles, 'Chopper Harris' and their ilk. Real footballers, there I've said it, not those who bit the earlobe off an apponent, or roll half way around the pitch after someone sneezed near them, and don't bother telling me I belong in the past, the past is where reall footballers where, you know the ones where England actually won the World Cup. Like many sports these days presentation takes over from substance, Waggy/Chillo would have had a field day in today's football world and been classed as the likes of Deli Alli and Harry Kane today, Messi wouldn't have got a look in.
This is why players who are effective and keep fit (like Livermore) shouldn't be sold. We'll have to see how it goes with Henrikson but I remember last season he was out for quite some time after just shoulder charging someone.
