    **** me, you still here?

As regards the Hotel, the Ferensway site is only one being looked at by Hilton. It's not cast in stone yet.....or concrete <whistle>

They could go for something more European sounding. Perhaps to reflect some negative locals 'Les miserables' or if they want their brand in it, what about 'Les Hilton'?

Yeah I had a little look too.

Seems like it took most time to flatten the site out, once the foundations are in I suppose it's just like a giant flat pack!

FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a suspected arson attack at the old Cornmill Hotel in Holderness Road.

Fire crews were called to the derelict east Hull hotel shortly after 8.30pm on Monday following reports of a fire inside the building.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate.

A Humberside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The fire started from a significant amount of discarded rubbish on the third floor of the building.

Who owns it? Look like a classic insurance job a la The Majestic in Leeds recently. It was redeveloped to such a high standard that nobody took any of the units as they were too expensive. Next thing you know, miraculously a local homeless man has been charged with arson. Hmmm......

The people that owned it went bust, so I assume it's being sold by a bank, that being the case it's not an insurance job, more likely just kids.

According to the agents handling it's sale, it's under offer anyway.

I went passed The Cornmill last night at the time of the fire - didn't look too bad, but there was a lot of thick smoke - all coming from the top of the stone tower at the back.

My mum went to Keep Fit there when I was a kid.

Shame it had plans that now, I would strongly imagine, are scuppered.

The Hull Hilton already exists - it is what the residents call William Booth house.

Sadly, it looks like much, if not all, of this place is going to have to be demolished...
