What's the difference between a shrimp, a prawn and a langoustine? I'd genuinely like to know, and it's not a setup to a joke or owt.
Shrimp and prawn are names for the same thing, a langoustine is a small lobster generally used for scampi.
Shrimpy and Prawny are cute and don't cause any bother, in fact they serve a useful purpose. Langy is a fish murdering bastard however and get GTF. Or you can believe OLM's explanation.
I think they use any old **** in cheap scampi, as it's not a specific fish, there's nothing to stop people using anything, best to make sure it says 'whole tail scampi'.
Doesn't take much googling before you come up with a horror Daily Tory Bullshit article on any subject at all. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ts-REALLY-scampi-Youll-wish-hadnt-asked-.html Bastard Vietnamese catfish. Coming over here. Taking scampi based jobs off of our native langoustine. Shagging our smaller, innocent catfish. Claiming fishy benefits. Sitting in a basket, with chips. Reminding us of the 1970s. It makes me sooooooo angry.
Sure, but leave at the interval unless you want to get washed out to sea. The front 20 rows are the splash zone.
Bullshit? The article is true. At least that paper publishes the things the Guardian and BBC would rather you didn't know. Years ago there was no call for scampi an the langoustine caught near Brid were thrown back.
