So its a Tuesday trip to Merseyside for the Chairboys and they will be looking to put to bed their midweek blues having not won a game except on a Saturday since away at Plymouth in September and now with some fresh legs added to the squad and with Red Hot Fred banging them in its time to avenge their early season defeat at the hands of the team from the Wirral. With no subs used on Saturday I presume there are no new injury worries and with Pierre serving his last game of his ban little or no changes are expected to the starting line up. Its been a long 7 weeks since we reached 50 pts but now we have finally got to 60 pts and with 6 game to play in March we should be sitting on 70+ pts before going into the Easter period so lets start by bringing the points back from Prenton Park
tonight should be interesting - away games, which we usually win, on a Tuesday night, which we normally lose. Using that process it should be a draw tonight, but I have a feeling we will win this if we show the attacking intent we have in the last few games! New ground for me as well
I've seen the views of Tranmere fans on other forums and they all to a man say they'll lose tonight as they have been bloody awful lately.
I'm a bit concerned that no subs were used on Saturday, does that mean he is going to change things up with some fresh legs?
I was concerned the players might not be 100% after playing on Saturday but hats off to the team. Keep it up.
If it was anyone else I would be worried but having McClure on the pitch is like having ten men anyway
superb result and performance tonight - hayes and fred linked up really well, poor defending cost us the goal but the way the team reacted defensivly to going behind was excellent and all of a sudden the crosses were cut out and tranmere reduced to longshots Then there was the red card. I didn't get a clear view but on first judgement and everyone elses reaction I think McClure was really stupid to throw himself in like that and bring the team down to 10 men. However how the rest of the team reacted was remarkable - high energy, professional slowing the play down and making it hard for tranmere to get the ball, and the likes of wood bloomfield and fred closing down the ball all the time and fighting until the last. It was a real performance to be proud of, and a good showing from the fans too A quick word on the penalties - Being down the other end I didn't have a clear view on the one that was given but it didn't strike me as anything much. The foul on Sammy wood in the second half however seemed to be as clear a penalty as you are likely to see and yet the referee overlooked it. Final word to Yennaris - I havnt mentioned him so far but I think we may have a replacement for scowen, excellent showing in a team that played excellently throughout, with the exception of McClure!
