I don't see that he owes us anything up to the time his contract was cancelled. If he got bonuses for winning and staying up, he earned them fair and square by helping us to win and stay up surely.

Not just the money the affect on a team / workforce when there is someone like that amongst them. I would imagine there may have been money lost or paid out to manage the situation.

His team mates cannot have felt comfortable

Are you sure he deliberately lied? The law says he shouln't have 'kissed and touched' until her sixteenth birthday. It's quite specific. But street logic says a kiss and a cuddle amounts to nowt. He might well have said it was all innocent stuff until his barrister told him in the eyes of the law he should plead guilty on the 10th of February. He was probably also told to plead guilty to 'grooming (when she's 16 and one month old it's called chatting up, and two months earlier the law calls it grooming). So he might easily have changed his story when his barrister told him the legal requirements.

There is no firm evidence that he knew her age in the first place, and none that he deliberately lied. All we know at the moment is that he's been a silly lad, nothing more.

Yes we don't know all the details but that was my opinion - it's for the legal system to discern the details and if guilty as seems probable he
deserves any fall out going. He is a role model comming through an academy system so should know the pitfalls of his very privileged status imo silly is very mild .
But I don't want to post further about this as atm let the courts decide and wait

He might not have known her age in the first place, but he googled the legal age of consent after one of their meetings Relic.

The evidence is damning Relic. There's no getting around that.

Add to that, Sam said he'd be in the squad for the game yesterday, only for things to turn full circle with the club sacking him within 24 hours of his guilty plea.

No way would Sam have thought he'd be available unless they were fully convinced by his assertions to the club of his innocence, over many, many months. Therefore, surely the only conclusion can be that he must have lied to club. Time and time again.

As I said, there is a big difference between legal 'sexual relations' and what the average man in the street considers significant at all. Johnson admitted guilt on two counts once he'd received legal advice. But to say he'd deliberately lied before that is a judgement call.

But as Wanderer said above, we're all entitled to an opinion.

Doubt you would find that many men who think this isn't significant. Coupled with the fact he googled the age of consent.

He knew what he was doing was wrong and no doubt in my mind he has lied to the club knowing his career is effectively. How much money can I scrape out of them before i go down? No doubting his Lawyer advised him about the same

Devils advocate here - would he "owe" us anything? He has made everyone feel totally foolish and idiotic for supporting him then he admits it yes - but surely what he did for us prior to that is what he was paid to do - without his assistance we may not be in the premier league now - we may be only looking at 4 or 5 in a row.

I'm not saying I disagree and, IMO, he should be sued, but I'd be doubtful as to whether we'd win. I'm not supporting him at all but I can;t see how he will lose when all he has been doing is his job.

I'm an above average man in the street and I have to agree with all of this. Except I'd use a grenade launcher. Heckler and Koch make a nice one.
