Won without hitting top gear but credit to Hull for having a go.

Hull played really well, Dont think they will have trouble staying up if they perform like that every week.
They were a little unlucky not to get a penalty, but we did enough to win the game.
Wasn't as easy as some thought, just like last season at the Bridge.

Costa got back to scoring ways and we kept another clean sheet, AND extended our lead at the top to 8 points <ok>

All round, a good weekend, with other results going our way.

Wishing Mason all the best and a speedy recovery from what looked like a bad injury, early reports are it's a fractured skull.

    GOOD:
Moses Defended incredibly well for few crosses. quick learner.
    Costa did make up.
    Cahill better striker than Defender.
Conte - nice and early with Subs pulling Eden & Pedro.
Thibo earned his corn. Great in shot stopping, yet need to improve on crosses. He reminds Cech on crosses. Indecisive & pondering.
Willian shielded the left side better than Pedro did.
Pedro was better than Eden shielding the flank TBH.

    BAD:
No one passes to Eden & Eden passes to no one. Doesn't look good
Not trying Zouma over Cahill & Ake over Alonso.

    UGLY:
Alonso proved liability yesterday, making Niasse look like Messi FFS.
lucky not to give away that pen.
Had that been Baba - everybody will be on his case. Why not for Alonso??

    Why would he?
Alonso is on cracking form, why would you pull someone who is in the form of their career? Would make no sense!

    Agree with the rest though

personally it may be his best. But not good enough for us.

I will prove that easily now.

Who is the better Defensive wingback - Moses or Alonso?
    End of <ok>

we need to thank the spammers for this one.
Snodgrass was left out because of their bid.

This might have got mighty close.
We need to sort out Hazard team chemistry sooner.

Think you're being a tad critical Stan, there's no easy games these days and teams like Hull will fight harder than most mid to top teams. I don't think anybody played badly as a team we wasn't on top form yesterday but won without drama. I'm more than happy with this especially with the Liverpool and Arsenal games on the horizon. <ok>

Great weekend. Not going to get bogged down in minor criticisms for a team that have bounced back from the Spurs defeat with 3 wins on the bounce. We've extended our lead and great timing with 2 massive games approaching.

Just a shame about that late, late, late Arsenal pen.

Wenger likely to have a touchline ban for our game though. Minor thing but may have some impact.

Ginge, I didnt underestimate Hull. They are good value.

however our left side Defense is suspect with Cahill & Alonso. I am worried and that could be the difference between Top 2 or Top 4. Fine margins, that is the reason Conte sacrificed Ake's fine progress.

hope Conte fixes that fine margin sooner than later.

I believe we don't have to worry about 2nd-4th Stan. Think positive and believe.

    Bod, revisiting my previous statement.
if Moses is better wingback not just offensively but defensively as well. Might be due to difference between Azpi and Cahill. That is another storyline.

    Is my stance misplaced?

I think it's over critical. This is a very competitive league, and Spurs aside, we probably have the best defence. Alonso has been far better than expected and Cahill has generally been solid. They are not world class players and will make mistake, but they are good enough to win this league with us this year, as has been proven my our results, league position, defensive record and winning run.

Fair play to you championing giving youth a chance, but a few months of decent performances for a mid table side doesn't suddenly make Ake a world beater. I certainly wouldn;t be messing with our defence unless forced to do so. By all means play Ake, Zouma, Chalobah in the fa cup game coming up though.

    Exactly!
If Conte feels he wants to sign improvements in the summer and ship players off, then by all means.
But midseason, when we are top of the league with the best defensive record, why **** with the defence?

If it aint broken, dont fix it!
