It seems there's no end of disused building being spruced up and converted for residential and other uses. Which is good. Most seem to be aimed at the 'young professional' and student market. I just think there needs to be more developments that could appeal to young families. I'm quite sure there's a market for it and in my humble opinion is the best way to really bring the city centre to life. I know myself it can be a great place to bring up kids, if you are so inclined. Just bloody hard to find suitable homes. Fruit market is a step in the right direction and prices should finally be revealed by December. I also think the space between king eddy/prospect street, Freetown way and George street could be a good spot for another little community to be developed. It's just out of the way enough from the man hustle and bustle, yet still right on its doorstep. Plenty of residential there already but could do with a bit of joined up thinking. Something certainly need to be done with that area.
From memory that used to be ARCO sports shop. Bought my first proper walking boots from ther in circa 1972.
I've said that for years, I used to work on the Marina and I often stood in the middle of the crossings for 10 minutes. ****ing ridiculous.
