And thereby stands a lot of the problem parking. In a lot of small towns which have high street shopping it's the same, if you could easily park business would be much better for these shops, but there are double yellow lines everywhere.
Not sure. Its still busy. Think too many people where parking all day as they worked in town as well. Can understand why people would of parked there as it must of been the only City centre parking in the country that was free..
You'd think they'd have had the foresight to put it near something like a transport interchange so that there were options other than the car.
This is an issue that really needs addressing on a wider scale. There's far too much reliance on cars, and it's not down to individuals to decide to stop using them in favour of less convenient and more expensive modes. It needs to be seriously encouraged with incentives.
I don't think they ever followed through with their warning letters about parking there for longer so people be just ignored it. I know people who happily parked there despite the two hour limit.
Are Zara just threatening to leave at this stage to get a better deal on their rent or are they actually going?
well, personally i just hate buses easier in everyway to just drive from your exact location to the location instead of walking a fair distance, waiting, then sitting on a slow busy vehicle that stops every 100 metres . then walking even further when you get off and then repeating it would prefer if there were inner city trains buses are just
I totally agree. People do have way to much reliance on their car. Where I live people will use their car to go 500 yards to the shop. I ll always walk and often walk into town or get the bus it's about 2 and a half mies. When me and the other half tell people they think we are mad walking that far.
People who go shopping frequently buy stuff. Their time is tight so they hit the shops and get all of their big stuff in one go. Lugging that shopping around and then getting on a bus with it is a thought that might revive the corner shop!
Obviously for a lot of shopping the car is a defo needed. There's just an over reliance and laziness to some of its use.
If people drink more alcohol more regularly, they'd have to use public transport more This would do the following; Help save the planet Avoid congestion Reduce wear and tear on roads Encourage more local shops Get more people into the City Centre as all buses go there Reduce car crashes, so keep NHS costs low The answer, as ever, is to drink more
That is what most people seem to think, I believe there is a problem with a lot of people not wanting to be seen in their local area waiting for a bus, they feel it is demeaning.
