Two separate motions will be submitted to the FSF's AGM on Sunday - asking football fans from across the country to back their proposed changes to FA regulations around playing name changes. The motions also ask the FSF to engage with the FA to ensure that any new rules in this area have proper supporter consultation at their heart. "The Hull City Supporters’ Trust is delighted that the Football Association has once again rejected the application to rename our club Hull Tigers," the Trust said this week. "The FA Council has now turned down the club’s owners twice in successive years and today’s vote saw an increased majority against the plan; there is clearly little chance of a future attempt achieving any success. "The Trust wishes to record our gratitude to the FA for securing the heritage of Hull City and for listening to the supporters of the club. This decision will also be welcomed by fans of other clubs who may be concerned that their clubs might, at some point in the future, face a similar threat. "We hope that fans of other clubs don’t have to experience the angst that City fans have endured over the past two years." http://fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/...rengthen-heritage-rules?#sthash.5qCugSiD.dpuf
Wow a Why would you have any interest in anybody else's thoughts or is it you just can't think for yourself?
Oh, I can certainly think for myself, which is why my post started with my opinion. I was just wondering what one of the pro-Allam, pro-name change imbeciles thought.
You mustn't have read my post then, so I'll repeat. "Oh, I can certainly think for myself, which is why my post started with my opinion. I was just wondering what one of the pro-Allam, pro-name change imbeciles thought."
So I'm a imbecile and prat because I have a different opinion to you I thought we lived in a democracy ?
So i'm a sheep who can't think up his own opinion, because I have a different opinion to you? Nice double standards you have there. Also, I'm still waiting for your opinion on the OP, before you decided to change the topic.
Sunbeam you still didn't give an answer though. What do you personally think about the suggestions above? I think they are a great step towards protecting the fans opinion and hope it is successful.
Is it right that the key to the rejection of the name change was the vote from the grass root clubs, with the vote from the professionals being in favour of the name change?
Most of the FA Council is made up of County FA types, so they were always going to determine the outcome, I don't think they actually confirm any details of exactly who voted for what. Certainly some club chairman and Greg Dyke voted in favour, but others voted against, including the Premier League.
Are there still moves afoot to have greater separation on decision making between the grass root and professional teams?
There are no moves to alter the make-up, or processes of the FA Council, at least as far as I'm aware.
Seems a logical step and one I am all in favour of. From what I have seen most other clubs fans were behind the #notohulltigers campaign, so to get this set in stone, will stop this bollocks happening again.
Interesting. I was talking to some grass root comittee people who reckoned they'd discussed it a few times and could see benefits for them.
So even though the Allams may now decide to back down, you're going to continue the campaign going. Some might say that the individuals behind this appear to be more interested in preserving their "voice of the fans" status rather than putting the issue behind us and getting behind the team. Obviously I'm not that cynical.
