Afraid that isn't true. Some years Bells doesn't taste like Bells either.

You've gone right down in my estimation

As per previous gin guidance I advise you to get a bottle of Lagavulin 16 and a bottle of Auchentoshan and taste the difference

(I also advise you to never drink Bells yourself, but if you already have some keep it for any family that you don't like at Christmas)

I'm no coniseur but even I can tell the difference between Bells and a nice JD Select or Holiday mix.
I've not drank much Gin but when you sample 3 different ones of the flight in Minerva you can taste the difference.

Right. I drank a bottle on my 18th. I was lucky to not be seriously hurt when I fell out of a Christmas tree I'd climbed up.

Since then, any of it tastes the same.

One of old bosses used to work at Teachers. I told him what I thought of the stuff so he decided to educate me from his own personal selection.

Tot 1 was some 12 year old stuff he thought had a honey undertone.

    Nope. Tasted like Bells.

Tot 2 was old as well just remember he described it as smooth. Nope. Bells.

Tot 3 was his oldest and best. He banged on for ages about the tastes and aromas. Bells.

He refused to waste any more on me.

    Thank ****.

Gin though. Yeah. But weirdly I always hated it. Tasted like Dutch Elm Disease to me. Until I got promoted to Sgt. introduced to the Sgts Mess and it tasted wonderful. Now I love the stuff.

Some have bad memories of gin, just don't wave Pernod anywhere near me, I shudder just at the thought.

I used to drink Pernod but can't stand the stuff now after having a bad spewing up session in the late 80s.

One of, if not the most, non heterosexual posts ever posted.

    Full on Lordish.

You like gin because you became a sergeant bit don't like whiskey because it makes you poorly.

    Not long now.....

    Good point
Now I've got an image of him swinging from the fairy lights wire to get enough momentum to get across and hang off a bauble
