Yeah, when I first heard where it was to be held, I assumed the prices would be ridiculously high but they weren't, so no wonder it sold out so quick! Was successful in getting tix for the LGBT event at City Hall which also went on sale this morning.
If anyone is interested in the history of east park, there's a whole load of old photo's going back to 1888 in entrance to the animal enclosure,be quick though,it's a private collection and only on for a few days.
really ? i was 680th in the queue and didn't get any. probably a blessing, it'll be full of bloody plastics with camera phones and selfie sticks who've never have been to a prom before !!!!
Agreed. Finding it difficult, as a working man who doesn't spend all day sat at a computer, getting tickets for some of these events. Our lass tried for the prom tickets but we ended up with tickets for the Kofi Annan lecture.
Im sure i read that the reason we have our own unique accent is down to the fact Hull is a port, and all the international people coming in and settling in the city has had the major effect on our accent. This is also the case with Liverpool apparently. Don't ask me to link where i read it as i can't remember what site i was on in the last 5 minutes never mind sometime in the past.
Is anyone going to the ELO concert. I went to Wembley last night and it was fantastic. Should be even better at a smaller venue.
Upstairs in Princes Quay on that outlet deck looks really good. There's a few stores not mentioned in the HDM article that are due to open soon according to the advertisement on the shop front and work has shifted to the food outlet on the floor. It's a shame that this has just opened and a few shops have since gone with Footlocker being the biggest of those. JD is apparently on its way to St Stephens too. These places constantly shoot theirselves in the foot with their rent. Look at the number of shops leaving St Stephens now too.
Third part of 'Flood' is going to be on BBC2 in August I can't remember who, but we were discussing it on this thread because there were rumours that it was going to be a live show, but it sounds like it's just being set up for filmin, with the last part as a live show later in the year http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/hull-city-culture-production-flood-133036
Not sure what this is about, something to do with sharing sea stores apparently... please log in to view this image
Footlocker must have been in the Quay almost from the start? They were certainly there in the early 90s - That's a shame.
They were there from the start, my dad originally agreed to take that unit when they were half way through building Prinny Quay, but he changed his mind and Footlocker went in instead.
I think that was me. They've been setting it up again for a few weeks and it looks similar to the live show. I was a bit confused since the final part is on TV but if they're filming it in the same spot that makes sense I guess.
Sharing sea stories by the Maritime Museum (originally the Dock Offices) gorr it right. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
