If they're indeed not playing those non-local songs any more it really does suggest it's the PRS thing doesn't it? It may be a pointless piece of cost cutting, but we know that's exactly what they've done for years. Their whole business outlook, in and out of football, obsesses over lowering costs. Allam Marine hardly employs anyone. City must have got rid of half their staff since they took over, maybe even more. They have a massive distrust of people and want to be able to oversee every penny being spent.
All of the above fit pretty well ... none of them foul-mouthed, and only slightly sacrilegious! Our Lord may inform us otherwise. He usually does.
Well if that is the case, and they are actually only using local bands who sign away their PRS royalties, AND they're not paying them (or, more specifically, the songwriters, as that's who benefits from PRS fees), the Allams are even bigger ****s than I thought!
You may be right. They should be though. I assume you lot are. I've probably made you about 17p by now. You're welcome. (Actually possibly not, as community radio royalties are based on a sample, not full playlists).
Yeah, we are, but many are not. I know this as a result of discussions I've had with many of them. It's quite labour-intensive, filling in and submitting the information for every gig you play, and I'm pretty sure most venues don't do it, even though they're supposed to. Me and Al got about £100 between us last year.
I've lived in Hull ,or within ten miles of Hull, all my life apart from 6 years spent in the Army and I can honestly say I have never heard of 50% of the local 'celebs' you quote. Had to google her.
