Would anybody be tempted to use this game to see if the young strikers edwards and bowen (have i got that right) Might have something about them? Would give mbob and hernandez a chance to ease thier aches and pains and who knows we could just strike it rich with one of them, well worth a try this game Look at rashford at united you dont play these youngsters you never know
You thinking similar to most I know here, Diame is great on his day, but goes missing for long periods in games, Hayden for me a much more rounded player.
Don't think Bruce had any interest in signing Hayden again, nor would he have wanted to stay since he didn't get picked here in the Championship. Hayden did absolutely nothing of note here. People sometimes wanted him in the team simply because he wasn't in it, but he was always 4th choice CM in a team that played 4-4-2. Diame was a beast like you describe... when he wanted to be. His last year he was really inconsistent, and due to his injury we only saw him for about 4 months of his other season for us. I wondered whether it was just the after effects of his injury causing him to lack consistency, but I guess he's not quite done it for you guys so far either. When he does play, he leaves you wondering why he doesn't play for a really top side, because it just looks effortless for him to glide past players and curl one in the top corner.

Do we really want to see their pale fat Geordie bellies and man boobs out, NO! so lets hav'm mauled in 90 mins please.
I wouldn't worry about extra time bro! To be fair we should be done by half time! Also Ben Arfa is probably the most skilful most talented player to ever grace St James Park, unfairly treated by Pardew in my opinion.
I'll be in a minority on this, but I'd have liked to have seen him given more of a chance. There was one game against Tottenham where we looked brilliant with him on the right of a 4-2-3-1. We ended up losing after going down to 10 men. Things went downhill from there and we never really hit those standards again. Ben Arfa never got back in the team after being subbed 30 odd minutes into the following game, uninjured, purely because of lack of effort. The talent was obviously there, and it's regretful that it never shined through, same as when we had Bullard.
He was appalling in that game against Man United where he was subbed, in the first 30 minutes, the stats showed he covered less ground than McGregor.
There isn't a single manager that hasn't treated him unfairly if you ask him. Either he's just really unlucky or he's a complete bellend that's wasting his natural talent and heading for mediocrity.
