Sissoko was a better right midfielder at the time though, he was shocking when played central....

There were reasons for it in terms of squad balance though to be fair to him, it wasn't just him being a lazy ****.

Great post as always though MrT

Not convinced by Haidara? In terms of what?

I think Haidara has a role at the club. It is befitting of his football ability and mental capacity...

Just don't let the **** near the pitch, I can't take anymore watching Stimo's reincarnation trying to work out how to control a football

It's from getting in touch with your feminine side - - wild mood swings, irrational outbursts but generally lovable. Or at least ****able sideways.

We haven't currently got any strikers(as was evident to anyone who watched our last game against West Ham).

If we sign one by Friday, or if Jelavic makes a miraculous recovery, then we might be okay.

Failing that we'll need you to not score to get anything out of the game.

Phil (fatman) Dowd ref for Saturday
70 yellow and 4 red cards so far this season
not doubt he'll add to that

I see that Robert Madley has not been given a game this weekend
he's busy learning how to put the stiches back into the ball
after a player has taken them out

Not a fit and proper person to do a Newcastle game. That performance at Liverpool last season was sheer cheating.

A scrappy 1-1 draw. It really is a must not lose game because if we do it doesn't bode well for Carver's cancerous tenure as well as our survival in the Premiership.

Even a chance we may get Tiote back after tonight. BBC reported that Pellegrini was thinking about putting on a special plane to get Yaya Toure and Wilfred Bony back for the game against Chelsea if Ivory Coast get knocked out. Mike has apparently arranged for Cheick to join them (as long as he is prepared to serve the drinks and meals). If not we should see him back around the end of February as the alternative route funded by NUFC is camel train to Khartoum (as long as he can barter for the fare with Sports Direct NUFC shirts (2011 home kit), train to Cairo (standing), Aeroflot flight to Moscow (standby) and then Easy Jet to Newcastle (he has to pay his own baggage).

I'm moving towards a narrow victory. Santon simply has to be ready to start? If Obertan and De Jong make the squad, I think things will start to look up.

How times have changes on the attitude towards Obertan. I remember the times when not a single good word would be said about him.

Indeed. I would quite happily have put him down a year ago. It felt like the humane thing to do.

I never thought I'd see the day where 1. He became useful 2. We'd actually miss him when he is out

We have missed his and Aarons pace badly. Our greatest strength is getting numbers deep to protect what is a poor defence, and then breaking quickly at pace. This is what hurts teams and most importantly makes the most of Sissoko's roaming playmaker role. It stretches the game and creates space for him. He is not a technician like Cabaye who can work in crowded areas. He needs space to open his legs and utilise his power.

The fans have to be open minded enough to accept when a player ups his game. To be fair our fans have done this before with the likes of Perch and Barton. Demanding yes, but not complete bastards.

It looks like five of our injured players could actually be available for tomorrow, so we now have a couple of strikers.

    Happy days.

Got to agree that l also would happily have volunteered to put Obertan out of his misery. All credit to him that before his injury he was certainly making some eat their words. I for one am more than happy to eat lots of humble pie if he comes back and takes up where he left off.
We have missed both his and Aaron's pace getting in behind teams and supplying the forward. Sincerely hope both return and stay fit long term.
