Bethie Ridley, 18, of St Pancras Close, west Hull, was conditionally discharged for 12 months for being in possession of a cannabis bush. She was also fined £10.

I reckon Beth should take this act on the stage.

Packet of pingpong balls and a packet of rizla, she'd make a fortune.

On a serious note, why the hell take someone to court to just fine them £10?

    Complete waste of time.

I think it's so they have a record and by the time they get round to murdering somebody the court would feel justified in giving them a suspended sentence.

It gives them a criminal record, which limits their employment prospects and acts as a deterent to others.
