I always have a look a these, see how some of my old school chums are faring... But this one brought a smile Clinton Broom, 36, of Tattershall Close, west Hull, was conditionally discharged for six months for stealing two, right-footed boots, worth £14.99, from Shoe Zone, a T-shirt and shoelaces, worth £36, from the Size Store, and for failing to surrender to custody. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...uary-23-2015/story-25909724-detail/story.html
Bethie Ridley, 18, of St Pancras Close, west Hull, was conditionally discharged for 12 months for being in possession of a cannabis bush. She was also fined £10. I reckon Beth should take this act on the stage. Packet of pingpong balls and a packet of rizla, she'd make a fortune.
I think it's so they have a record and by the time they get round to murdering somebody the court would feel justified in giving them a suspended sentence.
It gives them a criminal record, which limits their employment prospects and acts as a deterent to others.
