In one of the cups this season, how do you reckon it would pan out? Now i totally get that some will be totally biased, and give it, 4-0, Mackems are ****e SMB. Etc. Truth be told i havnt watched you once this season, you seem very hit and miss by results. Whereas we have just been very miss so far. So be as biased or unbiased as you please.
Can't see you getting out through in the League Cup - QPR are a cracking side. Obviously with the FA Cup you will just have sacked Moyes ready for the January transfer window which will mean that we will have no chance based on your previous with newly appointed managers.
Even if we do get past QPR the chances of you getting past Wolves seems pretty remote. So FA cup it is then.
we are probably at the same level now. We are a better team than last year and would probably beat the team which went down. Equally it looks like SAFC have slippped further into the **** so it would probably be a draw and end up on penalties.
It would tight and scrappy with a 1-0 or 2-0 victory either way. I'll favour the home side. I do think Sunderland would be favourites being honest, it would largely depend on which Newcastle turned up. I think we are tailor made for Moyes negative defensive counter attack nick a goal football. Teams who have been aggressive and played on the counter have been fairly successful so far. It would depend on injuries and so on. Newcastle would not have to worry about that much as we have a run of the mill squad. Sunderland have a decent 11 if they are all fit. Sunderland if they are at home definitely. If we are at home I think we might nick it. Overall I'd say 51-49 in Sunderlands favour.
Watched Mackems yesterday down the pub (thanks for making my Watford, Southampton & Spurs accumulator happen!), and they were actually better than I thought they'd be, offered almost nothing going forward, but organised and resilient defensive; Kirchoff and Kone looked very dependable, and for a kid Pickford seemed to be decent in goal, Djibodwhatever looked like a bit of a clown though. on the other hand though, Spurs looked a bit knackered from their mid week game, yet they still had all the play and should probably have scored more. Us, pretty hit and miss so far, some games turning on the style and comfortably turning teams over (QPR, Derby, Brighton), other times looking fragile and toothless up front (Wolves, Huddersfield). So yeah depends if it's a good or bad day for us, right now we're a very good championship side, and the mackems are a very poor Prem side. So I reckon a game between us would be tight, with both fancying their chances, 2-1 to either side.
