Mixed feelings about this guy as he was a DA signing and did not feature much under Sam and his heart just did not seem to in his game. Two out of three managers cannot be wrong so I doubt if it was a mistake of great magnitude.
Certain players just dont seem to fit in for some reason. Even players that are undoubtly good. Lens for example. Then there was Giacc and Sess. Now we have Khazri. Its a difficult one to figure out.
I see it as them signing a healthy contract with any EPL club and possibly trebling their money as continental players are not the best paid domestically and the EPL is a good hunting ground financially. Hopefully his Turkish club is paying the biggest slice of his wages now. Bosman strikes again.
Very good player but we couldn't get the best out of him. Likely on hefty wages too. Didn't replace him though.
Yes, only because his replacement is Duncan Watmore, who's not ready for the PL. That's not a knock of Watmore, more the decision making letting a Dutch international leave with no replacement.
Yes, it didn't take a mystic seer of the future to realise that the squad was as deep as a puddle. He looked in shape and up for it from what I saw of him before he left.
He is definitely good enough for us. His very well taken goal in the draw with West Ham proved that. So Allardyce didn't fancy him- fair enough but I always thought that was one of Allardyce's biggest mistakes. And this season, like Nacho says, he really looked up for it. This is one of the things that I don't understand about SAFC. We sign undoubted quality players with genuine attacking threat but both managers and fans alike are massively impatient with these players and show a preference for plodding workhorses who painfully grind out just enough points to keep us up. Then we all complain about how painful it is watching Sunderland. Maybe if we gave the mavericks a chance it would be more of a rollercoaster but less painful. As far as I'm concerned, I definitely think 2 out of 3 managers were very wrong about Lens. He should still be here.
Never mind in hindsight, it was a mistake at the time and we all knew it. He never lived up to his potential but we are light on numbers and to let him go out on loan, its just flabbergasting.
Yes. At first I wasnt bothered because I expected us to be replacing his wages with a quality striker. Little did i know that player would be Anichibe. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ews/sunderland-afc-loan-watch-double-11938971
A man thats so fat, lazy and unproffesional hes only just managed to get his fitness levels up to sitting on the bench standard on Saturday when hes been with us for nearly a month. Even i would have been able to have a run out by now. Any normal so called athlete without a club would have been training hard all summer to impress.
He was mate, he was training on his own all summer in Knutsford. He doesn't look the type of person who would ever be 'fully fit' though.
Really. I cant understand whats taking him so long to see any game time then? Qpr midweek could and should have been a perfect chance to get some minutes in on the pitch but Moysey just keeps saying hes not ready yet?
He came on on Saturday. Fit or unfit he's not going to get much game time playing 1 up front with Defoe fit.
Has he ever been rustless like? . I appreciate he needs minutes which is why a second half run out against Qpr would have done him some good. We had a 17year old leading the line instead and another young untested striker coming on 2nd half. He hasnt even made the bench up until Saturday, not even for the reserves due to a lack of fitness which is why im questioning his proffessionalism in being able to keep himself to a decent level of fitness. Hopefully he'll be chomping at the bit to play against Wba on Sat.
