Security levels increasing at Loftus Road because scumbag fans are expected this Saturday, risk level raised to serious Fans asked to assist in spotting northern Neanderthals Your help is vital in helping prevent further attacks, no need to add anything
Without in any way wanting to take away from the seriousness of the subject, I am getting the train over tomorrow, and was hoping to leave the armed police on the streets behind me in Paris...is it the same in London? Or just at major gatherings? I'll be there Saturday...nice and early, looking forward to it!
A lot more visible police presence - armed and not - when I was in London yesterday Not convinced that any level of policing is effective against the type of terrorists we saw in Paris unless everyone is constantly being stopped and thoroughly searched Action has to be preventative, intelligence led now
Armed police yes But anyone with that sort of thinking is only going to account for the police presence IMO Very very difficult and only adds to the overall fear IMO These are people who are going to their own deaths with a crazy belief that taking another human life is in some way correct To reduce the risk to any function that involves numbers over 5.000 then airport style security , ID cards and a heavy armed police presence must help however again the targets could change to easier everyday targets So step back Cost ? The first thing that is more important to many than human life We go in and find the snakes and wipe them out but you can never be sure you have them all ? We then need security and protection forever which governments are supposed to do anyway So we smash them then dictate? I say talk to the core people ... If anyone thinks that isn't happening wake up Stepping back further before Black Friday we have masses going out shopping to get things cheaper and make non tax paying people richer So do people care? What is this QPR statement about ? Improvements on what? What was the risk like before?
Someone mentioned to me not to wear colours as Leeds will be dotted around everywhere? Not sure where they got their info from but do we know if they have both tiers of the School End?
I think they have both tiers. As for the security, I do wonder whether there has been some intelligence signalling a possible attack. Westfield is just up the road after all. Keep vigilant and safe everyone!!
Our stewards don't have a hope in hell of stopping a terrorist but there will be ten of them on you if you stand up or sneak a bottle of coke in with the top on.
If only Leeds had SWP, we wouldn't need security. Hopefully, their forwards would have read his memoirs. Also hope everyone has a enjoyable day out with a win for the fans ( us that is ) and NW.
In all seriousness, our stewards seem to be students mostly often with little grasp of English. If the worst ever happened, in terms of security and logistics, we'd be ****ed.
Point taken. However, I'm not sure any football stewards would have the necessary training and skill-set needed to cope with a Paris type scenario. Surely we now need airport style security walk-through gates at grounds now.
Yeah agreed on the training required but I was thinking more if there was a fire or something it would theoretically be up to those buffoons to manage an evacuation. They'd probably punch anyone who stood up.
Our stewards are by no means the most unreasonable in the league Those 'king stewards at Leeds forced everyone in the away section to sit down last time we were there, despite the fact that none of the home fans were Not that it stopped us winning there
