I know there are some on here (looking at you SgtBhaji) who are into this, and I hope to follow the sport next season thanks to the arrival of Montoya. So, what do I need to know? I'm a complete novice so nothing is too silly to mention
The road courses are pretty decent and would love to see some F1 races on some of them. The street courses are farcical. If you get less than half the race not being under a safety car you've done well. Ovals are a mixed bag. Sometimes the racing can be processional and dull, other times there are some really good scraps & drafting games being played. Stand out drivers are probably Scott Dixon and Will Power, and hopefully Montoya, though usually there will be others in the mix as well. Shame no Franchitti for 2014. Of the ladies, Simon de Silvestro is the better of the two and am expecting good things of her in 2014 following her maiden podium towards the end of 2013. Hopefully live racing will continue on ESPN in the UK.
I might give this a viewing next year too. I am also a novice but interested in seeing what its all about. Hey Di Resta might be in indy next year too!
Waaaahey!!! I won't be the only Not606er watching next year. Still bummed that Franchitti is having to retire though.
