Liverpool have confirmed that they will have Daniel Sturridge ready for the start of the Premier League season despite him picking up a thigh injury on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old was forced off the pitch in the Audi Cup clash against Bayern Munich after he scored in his side’s 3-0 win.
There have been many concerns about Sturridge’s fitness due to him suffering numerous spells on the sidelines in recent years.
However a statement on Liverpool’s official club website confirmed that it is very unlikely that he will miss more than just Wednesday’s friendly clash with Atletico Madrid.
The Reds announced that the former Chelsea man will be monitored by the club’s medical staff and that there is no need for him to undergo a scan.

Not a bad thing. Forces Klopps hand to sign a similar player and will probably be better than Lallana as he's bang average.

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool are set to be without Adam Lallana for a significant period of time due to a thigh injury.

The playmaker sustained the issue during the Reds’ Audi Cup final with Atletico Madrid in Munich on Wednesday evening.

Lallana is now likely to be sidelined for ‘a couple of months, not weeks’ as he begins a rehabilitation programme with the club’s medical team, according to Klopp.

The manager told Liverpoolfc.com: “This is certainly not news we would have wanted.

“Unfortunately, the damage is such that it will likely mean Adam is out for a couple of months not weeks, so I think we can pretty much rule him out of August and September.

“Beyond that we will monitor and wait and see. He is a boy with a world-class attitude to everything professionally and he has always come back in good time from injury setbacks since I have been here, so we will see.”

Daniel Sturridge is in line for a return to action against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Liverpool striker has been unavailable since sustaining a thigh injury in scoring against Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup on August 1.

Sturridge did not travel with the Reds squad for the Champions League qualifying play-off with Hoffenheim, but should be in contention when the Eagles visit Anfield this coming weekend.

“He is in a good way,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.

“We had a talk this morning and he was really close, he looked good yesterday. Two more sessions and he will be available for the weekend.”

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Daniel Sturridge is set to be fit for Saturday’s Anfield clash with Crystal Palace.

The striker returned to full training at Melwood this week and is likely to come into contention to make the squad for the Premier League encounter against the Eagles.

Elsewhere, Philippe Coutinho will miss the game due to a back injury.

Asked by journalists whether the duo would be ready to face Palace, Klopp told his pre-match press conference: “Daniel yes, I would say.

“Yesterday he was part of the complete session and looked really good, but always after injuries you have to wait to see how the player reacts to this intensity.

“Phil is not available; he is not training so far, so there is nothing new. It is always how it is with injured players, there is no real time on when he is back.”

Meanwhile, Klopp revealed there has been “no change” in Nathaniel Clyne’s condition as he continues his rehabilitation programme from a back issue.

Keep hearing that Ford won't be playing for us now (if he stays) until after the international break. Surely he can't travel to play with Brazil if he's injured/ill? We're not ****ing putting up with THAT are we?

Trent Alexander-Arnold could sit out Liverpool's Premier League clash with Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.
The 18-year-old full-back, who received a maiden call-up to the England Under-21s squad yesterday, was forced off with a dead leg during the second half of the Reds' Champions League play-off victory over Hoffenheim in midweek.

Liverpool are waiting to see how Alexander-Arnold responds to treatment before making a decision on his participation against Arsene Wenger's side.

Rumours abound stating Salah injured/not injured anyone heard anything reliable ?
It would be about right for us, then Klopp will get blame.
I genuinely cannot remember the last time we had an int. break where we didn't lose someone in the break :(

Egypt have dismissed suggestions Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is being hampered by a knee problem.

Reports in his homeland claimed Salah had suffered an injury during his country's 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in Uganda on Thursday night.

However, reports in Egypt state the player trained normally over the weekend ahead of the return game against Uganda in Cairo on Tuesday evening.

And Egyptian team doctor Mohamed El-Ela is quoted as saying: “There is no injury to Salah, he is completely ready for the match,” the team doctor said.
