I've no problem with Rooney as a person (in fact he's gone up in my estimation in recent times), only as a "footballer".
Daley Blind sacked as Dutch manager. It was coming. It's hard to see things getting too much better in the short term.
I feel a little sorry for him, he just didn't have the talent available to him that previous managers had. Dutch football is in a very poor state at the moment when compared to the past.
I didn't mean that he is a bad person, but when he is on a football pitch he only seems to think about himself
That's a little off-message by the KNVB: after failing to qualify for the Euros they held an enquiry and soon realised their squad was literally missing an entire generation of players, as the squad was either players in their early twenties or their thirties with nobody in their mid-twenties, and they knew it would take time to address this. Sacking the coach eighteen months later isn't going to address the long-term issues Dutch football has.
There's been a lot of comment about a tweet Rio Ferdinand posted two years ago predicting the next generation of England CBs Of course, the real reason I brought this up was to highlight some of the responses which...let's say lacked anything resembling insight. Responses such as... All of those responses were from two years ago, so you'd think fans would be smarter than mouthing off in response now. But then you remember West Scam fans exist...
Classy response from that guy mentioning Rio's wife's death. Good grief. Very impressed with Keane, glad he got to play the last couple of games despite not being at a "fashionable" club.
Portugal were 2-0 up against Sweden, now it's 2-2. If only things like this happened before they Leicestered their way to the Euros... The post mortem in Zagreb won't be fun: even though they were missing a slew of key names (notably Modric and Brozovic) and had just sixteen players available, Croatia conspiring to lose 3-0 to Estonia was inexcusable Time to play another game of What The **** Formation Are Belgium Using? For their match with Russia, they started with: Mignolet; Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Vermaelen, Foket, Tielemans, Dembele, Chadli, Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn, Benteke, Mirallas This time it looks like 4321: a back four (with Verts at left back...), Dembele, Tielemans and ch'yar ul'nyar shaggornyth behind Chadli and Mirallas with Benteke up top...although **** knows what the system was when the subs came on, but I get the feeling that's why they went from 3-1 up to a 3-3 draw.
Some of the players have returned to training. Filmed by Eric Dier, featuring Dele Alli and some other bloke. Who he?
In other words, it is not... * Homesickness * A failed drugs test * A falling out with Poch * A move back to Roma
Vauxhall is ending its sponsorship of England. Vauxhall was so symbolic of England's fortunes. Englands chances usually go up in flames - just like the Vauxhall Zafira.
It's worth pointing out that a few weeks ago Vauxhall was bought by PSA Peugeot-Citroen Not a good sign of how trade negotiations with EU nations are going to go, is it?
