He can't play tomorrowhttp://www.stokecityfc.com/news/art...-for-sweeney-3529810.aspx#kvCDr1xoFmBPGKqO.99
Jack Redshaw joined Rochdale Oldham have signed 2 1 being Gerrard C / H who played for Cardiff Listening to DCs pre match interview he was implying that the championship G / Ks he approached wanted to much money
I understand DC doesn't want to pay to much in the way of wages but that's football in this country no player will play for peanuts anymore.
Big piece on sky sports transfer news from DC saying we need defensive reinforcements, maybe some agents will read this and a player who is looking to move that won't cost the earth and give him a call
Got bored and looked at the Bristol Rovers wall, interesting item by Andy ****ehausen on the 23 1 2017 saying that the Reds were looking to replace Lee Johnson with DC Compensation agreed
DC would definitely relegate them he would buy loads of unproven 12 year olds and players who played for him at Salisbury
Young Middlesbrough defender Jonny Burn today became Darrell Clarke’s fourth signing in the January transfer window when he signed for Rovers in a permanent deal. The central defender began his career with the Sunderland Academy before joining Middlesbrough in March 2013. Although he was unable to break into Boro’s first team, he has gained valuable experience during loan spells with Oldham Athletic and with Kilmarnock and has skippered Middlesbrough’s Under-21 side. He scored once in 12 league games for Oldham last season and has played eight games for Kilmarnock this season. Speaking of his new signing, Darrell said; “Jonny is another highly rated young, hungry, defender looking to establish himself as a Football league player and having sampled life in League One with Oldham he is now keen to further his career. I am looking forward to working with him and I’m sure he is the type of player our supporters will warm to. I am grateful to Middlesbrough for allowing Jonathan to sign for us and, once again, thank our own Board of Directors for sanctioning this, our fourth signing of the month to date.” http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news...r-jonny-burn-3537886.aspx#fQ5aY2L6hDTm1bWD.99
So where do I begin with this signing then! A defender with no experience and aged just 21 12 games for Oldham last season is not really experience as Oldham are crap. 8 league games and 2 cup games for Kilmarnock which is in a league similar to league 2 or non league level. Just 22 games playing 1st team football and he is apparently our answer to our really weak defensive problems. Out of the 12 games for Oldham last season that he was involved in, he only won 1 game, losing 2 games and drew 9 times, while conceding 16 goals in the process and got sent off once. Out of the 12 games for Kilmarnock this season that he was involved in, he only won 2 games, losing 4 games and drew 4 times, while conceding 20 goals in the process. But at the same time, trying to look at this in a positive light, remember Bolger and Parkes when they came to us without much experience and at a similar age. They didnt do too bad. He was also Boro's under 21 captain too, so may have some leadership skills. Personally, its not a signing I would choose just because we need an experienced defender to sort out the back line. However, as always, I will get behind the player. Just hope DC knows what he is doing. I bet some on another forum are fuming though!
I am not to disappointed with this signing 1 permanent signing 2 young and hungry and wanting first team football 3 I trust in DC the loan signings he made were all pretty good even though some weren't liked by some supporters 4 a signing for the future 5 as captain of their U21s he must have been highly thought of and CJS as you have pointed out have some leadership skills If we give these youngsters a chance they might well surprise us, if they are good enough they are old enough
