My Chrome now comes up with Yahoo when I ask it to search for something. A quick net search indicates this might be a virus. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Since this is the most frequently visited web page for me, if it is a virus, I wondered if it came from here? Mods?? Apologies if nothing to do with this site.
RTID, my Computer has started playing up too. Its freezing and Chrome seems to be all over the shop. Could be this Site...................or it could be a myriad of others
Naughty! I visit here, an obscure chess site and the BBC - mainly which made me think it might be this one.
I got shot of Chrome when it started freezing and took ages to load. Might just be something peculiar to that browser...
What are you using RTID? Are you on a mac or PC or android etc? If your on a PC and have a half decent firewall/virus protection then it should notify you or even block you from entering any website deemed a threat. I would still do a full system and boot time scan when you get the chance just to be safe mate!
Sorry. Crazy phone. Windows laptop with AVG basic. Ran a scan and all normal but there is some mischief somewhere.
have a look at this link - you are not alone ... http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id...chrome-resetting-options-work-boot-yahoo.html good luck
I can only speak for one's self but when I had Norton, it completely screwed my computer ........................ and then trying to get rid of it was an even bigger issue!
Malware bytes is another decent free program and I use that if I think something's afoot but AVG doesn't get it. Clearing your cache in Chrome and making sure you don't have two flash players working simultaneously have also helped in the past to improve performance.
Another thing that can really slow down the performance is security attached to downloads such as Adobe which has McAfee which can work against other security programmes you may have installed. It's all very frustrating, especially if you need to log in on a time deadline and all you get is hang-time...
