A second half Ryan Moss goal was enough to give Margate a very precious victory. They rode their luck mind with a few close shaves and a disallowed goal but who cares. A massive three points!

Into October, Stick, and the form seems to be settling down. You'd say at this stage that it really looks like a two-horse race with Maidstone.

I try to watch local games when Palace are away, and I get to Leatherhead and the Met.Police a few times a season in the Isthmian (better class of punter in the bar at L'head, imo, but some of the racing heads-up stuff
from the Met is very good). The experts at both those grounds all seem pretty convinced that Maidstone and Margate are several lengths better than the rest and, all things being equal, should have it between them.

Leagues at this level, particularly after a hard winter, are often decided by the depth of the squad(s). In April and May, there tend to be a lot of rearranged midweek games to catch up with fixtures lost to weather in mid-season. Since all the players in the Isthmian are - as far as I know - part-time, a lot depends on whose employers will let them go early enough and often enough for the backlog of evening matches. There are a few cases where the star player(s) actually "work" for the club owner or chairman, but not very many.

Anyway, I'll be keeping up with events and I'll post if I hear anything significant from any of the bootrooms. As always, I hope you win your bet.

Cheers Rainer. It certainly looks like it could develop into a two horse race. The two have met with my boys coming out on top so maybe they have the edge. My other huge positive is Margates very early FA Cup exit. No ditractions on that front is a big positive in my book.

Thanks as always for the good wishes!

Was very impressive - a match up against Millward Teddy (13/2 Fav) who also arrives fast and late is somthing to look forward to <ok>
That was his 1st run over 687 - has won 4 OR's on the bounce since the tip.
We were surprised to see him last into the 1st bend as he's usually out quick - will only get better and better - now 14s <cheers>

Did the business again last night - bit of trouble with T5 early doors and pushed out wide at one point, but grabbed the rails and result was never in any danger!!

NB - Some good dogs he disposed of there!!!

He is some animal. The only worry is that he gets taken out at some point as he doesn't have any early pace. Down to 10's though now so we are way ahead of the game thanks to you. When does the St Leger start?

    The heats are on 25/10
    2nd rd 01/11
    semi 07/11
    Final 11/11

Worried about his early pace too, but Millwards Teddy is the same.
Remember he has only ever ran twice at this distance though, and won both in emphatic style against some good animals.
If he improves his early in the qualifying, he will be favourite!!

Margate beaten at third placed Hendon by three goals to two. Its not going to be the walkover we were hoping for!

Stick - not sure if you see it or not, but he was quality at the weekend.
Opened @ evens and won @ 8/13 by the small margin of 11 lengths.

New track record over 6 bends at Sittingbourne...wooooosh! Droopys London had been impressing trainer over the 6 bend trip and he said the ledger is a possibility for entry, I wouldn't bother now..that's right - smashed by 11 lengths.
