My memory fails me on it being his first game back, I'll bow to your superior knowledge on that one. Liked Harper, but could never understand how he played professional football till the age of 74 and only made 12 first team starts*! * denotes there may, or may not be a gross exaggeration/understatement in this post.
Harper was one a very small number of footballers who are what we can call 'loyal'. He didn't care that he was on the bench, he just wanted to be at the club he supported. Fair play to him. A shame we got him at such an age, I could have seen him being our main keeper for a bit had we got him, say, after Myhill left.
10 ****ing questions I had to answer to read that pile of dog ****e. Needless to say I didn't bother. Probably along the lines of "it's a great club" "look what I did for little old hull" and the usual self obsessive, deceitful bollocks.
Many cynics would put that down to happy to collect premiership wages while sat on the bench. There is a serious lack of ambition there?
I normally check on stuff like this (line-ups etc) on soccerbase.com but it seems that site is no longer in use.
Christmas essay competition if anyone's bored. 2000 words on Steve Bruce: Greatest City manager or Fulcrum of Our Downfall? Resource material provided if you can't be arsed. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...s/what-happened-46-signings-steve-2326809.amp
Eh? How many were loans he had to do or free transfers. I dont think people realize how much Brucey had to wheel and deal to get players in.He just got on with it.
True, and also it's probably the case with most managers at clubs like ours that a good portion of signings don't go well. We went through dozens of **** players on our way up from Division 3 to the PL and most did nothing after leaving us. But we got there.
Difference is with Sir Steve look at the successes. Think even the likes of Jake woulda had a better career if they'd stayed here under Brucey.
