Could be our friendly ex-manager Felix Magath. If the Jozabed is 18 months that's a long loan !!! Could it be clearing the way for Piazon to sign or loan continue and releasing some of the wages to help. I still think we are still under some FFP restriction this season.
The club have confirmed that Jozabed has joined Celta Vigo on loan for the rest of the season. We never really got to see Jozabed get a run in the team, as Jokanovic stumbled onto Cairney in the middle (and Aluko on the right) and kickstarted our season. EDIT: C58 already posted about this in the Loans thread, but seemed appropriate to confirm it here as well since he was a member of the first team squad.
Amid renewed speculation about Spurs and Liverpool coming in for Ryan Sessegnon there's good news from the local paper. They say: "It helps somewhat, the left sided defender has signed a pre-contract agreement that kicks in on his 17th birthday in May - along with a £15m price tag that so far has warned off all poachers." If true, and there's no reason to doubt that their reporter Paul Warburton has good links to the Club, it's great to see us at long last getting a grip on proper contract arrangements for our young players.
If Lookman is worth £11m, I think Ryan is definitely worth £15m+ To be honest, every game he plays for us both increases the chances he'll stay with us for a year or two and the value we'll get when he does go. He is definitely better off with us for the next few years (especially under Jokanovic) but if he continues the way he is going, he is destined for a big move before too long.
Lasse Vigen Christensen is having talks with Burton. When you look at our bench in the last two games, it's a tad difficult to understand why he's wasn't in the 18 for at least one of them. But there you are and Jokanovic has only acknowledged him once in gosh knows how long. He desparately needs games other than the occasional U23 outing, so you can see the logic in a move - I'm assuming on loan with his contract not up till summer 2018.
According to the local paper QPR are in for Matt Smith but he'll cost them £1m. Apparently it's dependent on Olly offloading some of his existing lot, including Carl Henry - remember him and Bobby Zamora? And obviously (presumably?) all subject to us bringing a striker or two in. Smith of course is out of contract in the summer which would make getting a fee attracive to us. Source: http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/fulham-qpr-matt-smith-how-12526324 PS Haven't bothered to post any of the stories about Middlesbrough offering £7m for Tom Cairney. What a joke!
The local paper is now saying that a fee has been agreed between the clubs AND that Matt Smith has agreed personal terms. Source: http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/smith-agrees-personal-terms-qpr Tom Cairney is going to be gutted at losing his bestest pal.
I really don't get this selling of Matt Smith to a close rival (quote: won't send Martin back to Derby because.....). In this league there are times against certain teams when you'll need a direct ball to a striker like Smith to grab 3 points. Whoever is making these decisions on letting our Strikers leave better have a plan, as a striker was a priority even before we let 3 of ours go out the door. The question to ask about any Striker coming in are they better than Woodrow, Smith or Martin, (Humphrys), if not, why bother to gamble.
Humprhy is such a potential talent alongside Martin he could have polished up his act ready for next season, or will he become another Dembele / Hyndman offloaded for peanuts
Early morning reports is that Ryan Sessegnon is on his way to Spurs being loaned back for rest of season.hope there is no truth in this..
He worked hard, but ultimately I don't think he was really the striker we were looking for. A little bit concerning that we now only have one striker in the first team squad, one Chris Martin.
Assuming that nothing happens in the next few hours, perhaps it means that Aluko, Piazon, Ayite etc are seen as options to play up front. Hmmmm, we could really do with a signing, couldn't we?
