Aye, there's a dream that we see the real Lens and it's like a top end new signing.

    Dreams rarely come true sadly.

In defence to Lens hes won alot of cup and league medals so based on that yes i probably would have him over Januzaj in our first team.
Id still love Januzaj on loan though! He played a blinder against us 2 years ago.

No doubt he's a player we'd like to have especially as we lack left footed players.

To be fair, if he's gonna sit on the bench behind the likes of Khazri or Borini (I'm not including Lens because he was on the bench himself) then he'll go elsewhere.

He's better off on our bench than anybody else's.

We need a good number 10 mate to sit behind Defoe. I reckon we could more than accomodate him there.
We also have Watmore out wide. Id hate to see him move down the pecking order because of a loan signing!

Interesting view on loans, I've seen others say similar - why should we develop your youngsters and give them back? If said youngster is Danny Welbeck and helps you finish 5 places higher (for example I haven't looked at the stats) then you get £10m more league money.

    There's positives as well.

If you don't need them you won't go for them.

Loaning a player to a Premiership team also gives them a name. Not that Januzaj needs it like.
Hardly anyone had heard of Wellbeck before we had him after his unsuccesful loan at Preston.

We were ****ing mortified at Welbeck weren't we. He was superb from day one.

Had he not got injured we could have really done something that season.

I prefer to buy but absolutely if we can loan quality, then I'm all for it.

There has to be something in it for both teams and the player or it's pointless isn't it?

There was nothing in it for anybody loaning Adnan to BVB last year, stupid deal.

Then he ran past someone with his weird spider legs and I thought 'decent this kid'. Ha.

Sad to see him leave, but we'd signed Falcao to make him redundant <doh>

    Jose would probably like Welbs.

I never understood the sale mate, he's quite unique Welbeck such a smashing player.

I'd love him back here someday, if he can ever stop breaking his leg on greenfly and ****.

Fergie would never have sold him.

Van Gaal probably told him he was redundant when Di Maria and Falcao signed.

Not quite how I remember it... He wasn't great for the first few months, in fact I remember many threads on the old 606 suggesting there must be something in the loan agreement promising him to play x number of games coz there was no way he should be anywhere near the time otherwise!

He got better around November / December time as I recall and didn't look back.

The loan system is strangling football for me. Kids are brought on by a club but the professional game time is done at other clubs for the benefit of the parent club. Either use him or sell him rather than use the "finishing school" system

Rose and Yedlin as well as Wlebeck are perfect examples. Parent clubs often would rather buy the finished product than give the kid time to develop in their team, or are they twitchy he may not make it? Darren Fletcher is a good example, SAF persevered with him often to the anger of some supporters.

He'll probably spend 90 minutes talking to the Sikhs tbh ....... at Sunderland he might get to do a few stretches down the touchline.
