You're making the mistake of thinking the other networks will want "Top Gear" from the BBC. They'll just make a similar show (I.e like fifth gear was) with those three presenting it and let it take over in popularity.

You're making the mistake of not realising top gear is not just a tv programme, there's so many off shoots of that show that generate money as well, cd's, DVD's, magazines etc. that's why they will want it

 

They can replicate all of that with a similar formula as long as they get the same three presenters with a similar product.

 

Don't be ridiculous, fan bases have to be built up, the top gear brand took years to establish

 

I didn't say it would be instant. But it can be replicated over time.

The fan base is partly built. Nearly a million people joined the petition to get him back so there's potentially a million fans start up on a new show (providing they have access to whichever platform it will be on).

 

The BBC have 100% of rights to Top Gear, unless they sold it.

Wouldn't the BBC sue them over copyright?

 

Just to show how stupid some "fans" of Top Gear are......the head of the BBC has received death threats for having a spine & sacking a violent, sexist, racist, misogynist bully

And instead of getting some 16 year old wizz kid to find out where the cyber bully lives, the police spend a fortune on protecting the head of the BBC.
