I wonder what would have been the reaction if we had won one match and drawn three? Unbeaten but with only six points. Plus a relatively happy forum? The trouble is that drawing games does not win leagues. You need wins. I am all for adventurous and risky tactics, even it means some defeats This, I would rather JFH say that we messed up the "tactics", rather than the team is "tired".
Make no mistake, this was a massive disappointment and a poor performance, lacking in both skill and commitment. My son commented that there was not one QPR player who played well, no passing in the final third and lots of head tennis. Worse, we just didn't turn up. However, we are still sixth in the table and a return of six points from 4 games is only marginally worse than what I would have put forward as "best case" prior to the start of the season. How can we seriously be discussing JFH's future at this point? I was not in favour of his appointment, I thought he was too inexperienced. However, like Greg (UTRs), I hate the modern throw-away culture which has spread to the football world and, for me, JFH should be there for at least the rest of the season. Let's give the man a chance! And the first thing I would like to see him demonstrate is some motivational power rather than offering limp excuses. Up the R's!
There ya go folks, Ted's said it, it's the truth! No denying it now! Ha. But seriously...... look at this team: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010–11_Queens_Park_Rangers_F.C._season Telling us we had world-beaters then?, or was it because the other teams in the division had poor sides? Looking at it now, we had a couple star types but a rag-tag bunch. We have that today as well. But nowhere near the energy. Somebody crack the whip
When Ollie took over he had a squad of 7 first team players plus Carlisle and Langley out with ACLs. While I wouldn't want him back either Ellers, I think he did a fantastic job stabilising the club with free transfers who we couldn't even pay relocation expense to. He did very well to stop us going down again.
Well said Roller, those were really dark days and some of us seem to have forgotten where we were before 2007 when expectations went through the roof. Two good early wins were probably the worst thing that could have happened expectation-wise. We need to calm down and give them all a chance, I still expect there will be one or two additions plus possibly a loan or two as well. Early days...
i agree Roller that at the time Hollaway was exactly what we needed. i think when i go on about IH that people think i am knocking him. Maybe i should have said he was good for that division/time but lacked real quality as a manager in a higher division.
I think this question is the root cause of all the current emotions: "Why were we so bad against Preston?"
don't we all have a bad day at the office? Let's get behind the team and encourage rather than slate. Normally when a side plays badly there are 1 or 2 that do try but from what I have read, we could have still been tonight and not got any better My comment may yet bite me up the backside if the performances don't get better and we end up in a relegation dog fight!! I still think top 10, and top 6 is not out of the question
i think we must bring in two strikers, we do have strength in every department but not in the striker department
Unbelievable thread, amazing how some posters only appear when we lose and don't have anything to say when we win and play well....... If by the end of November we've lost 15 games on the trot and are rock bottom, then by all means call for the managers head, but now.........really?
i despair at some of the muppet's this forum has attracted, 4 league games in 6 points in the bag, a little reality check is needed here, were in a period of austerity, many millions spent chasing a dream has been wasted, this is a building process that will take at least a couple of years to achieve, those that don't like it bugger off and leave us to our misery
