http://www.skysports.com/boxing/new...-july-return-ahead-of-anthony-joshua-showdown Tyson Fury says he will return to the ring in July as he bids bid to secure an all-British showdown with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Joshua stopped former champion Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium last Saturday to add the WBA heavyweight title to his IBF crown, while Fury has not fought since he beat the Ukrainian in November 2015. Fury told Sky Sports last week he did not need a warm-up fight before facing AJ, insisting he would beat the London 2012 Olympic gold medallist with one arm tied behind his back. Online videos have shown the 28-year-old - who had his licence revoked in October as he dealt with mental health issues - shedding the pounds in a Marbella gym And Fury says he will remain in Southern Spain ahead of his comeback, insisting a fighting between himself and fellow unbeaten Brit Joshua is inevitable. "I'm out here for the foreseeable future, running, doing circuits, padwork, sparring," said Fury, who told www.britishboxers.co.ukthat a match-up with Joshua had been pencilled in for April 2018. "I'll be back on the July 8 Copper Box show headlined by Billy Joe Saunders. I'll have a few comeback fights, two or three, while I'm waiting for Joshua. "There's no money in anybody else, I want 'Mr Muscles'." Tyson is training alongside good friend Saunders, who is scheduled to defend his WBO middleweight title against hard-hitting Georgian Avtandil Khurtsidze in London. "I can be the best Tyson Fury again," Fury added. "It didn't slip away - I just couldn't be bothered no more. "But now there's 30million involved. I was a shadow of my former glory, but now I'm on my way back. With me and Joshua, one looks the part, one is the part." Fury pulled off a huge upset when he outpointed Klitschko in Dusseldorf almost 18 months ago to win a unanimous decision and become heavyweight champion and said he is not impressed by Joshua. "My win over [Klitschko] was a lot better, a better boxing display," he said. "He never hit me, but he hit AJ with a million punches and nearly knocked him out. He definitely did expose him. "I hope [promoter] Eddie Hearn protects Joshua, because the first decent man he fights who's not 41 beats him. "Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, any one of these would beat him."
This clown is just a dosile CSM http://www.skysports.com/boxing/new...rker-out-if-fight-with-wbo-champion-gets-made "Me vs Joseph Parker is the only fight the UK fans want to see right now. Look at social media, that's all they are talking about, Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker." Really?
Eddie Hearn has allegedly provisionally booked the 18th of April 2018 for a fight between Joshua and Fury.
I'd assume neither would have another fight before then so that's a long gap. Should've been about November in my eyes, although saying that they'll want to do it open air and in Britain so would have to be spring. September would be too soon.
I've no idea. I just assumed his next fight would be Fury to capitalise on that interest. Who is his next fight? If he wins a title he doesn't want Fury as his first defence.
Joshua has a rematch with Klitschko in October and Fury is supposed to fight in November if he gets his license back.
Wilder will be a bit gutted and so am I tbh. Another unification bout would've been far more interesting than a rematch between Wlad and Joshua (contractual, so not much you can do) and Joshua against Fury. Wilder might want a fight against Parker instead then.
Titles don't mean anything these days. Every heavyweight boxer knows the "champ" is Tyson Fury and he'll be the lineal champ until somebody beats him.
Times Sport @TimesSport Conor McGregor has signed a deal to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr for the tidy sum of $75m.
What a circus, Mayweather could beat him with one arm and blindfolded. I won't pay to watch that ****e.
McGregor is actually not a bad boxer. I don't think he'd beat Mayweather - but he's got a great punch on him.
If McGregor was fighting Mayweather in a pub car park he might have half a chance, but in a boxing ring he's going to get battered.
If anyone thinks Floyd is going to lead with his chin like that they're mistaken. He's made top top boxers look poor his defence is that good, an amateur boxer isn't going to trouble him
I merely said McGregor had a good punch, which he has. I also said I wouldn't expect he'd beat Mayweather.
I'd want Mayweather to batter McGregor as well, give him a real pasting. Do a Hagler on Minter type job.
I think he will just pick him apart. Total, humiliation hopefully. To be honest it's a ****ing joke. Can't stand mcgregor but fair play to him he's hyped this up. Then you look at a proper champion like golovkin fighting for peanuts in comparison. Mental
