keith Burt is he the problem

Lets say SL listens to his director of football,Keith Burt who im sure is paid a handsome sum.

Lets say SC goes to KB as says that is who i want,he then goes to SL for authorisation to pursue that player.

I Was told Saturday that we had a deal in place for a Hull defender at 2.5 million,after SC had agreed the deal with Steve Bruce.Just before SC went on Holiday.

Apparantly KB offered 1.5 million when SC was away,hence the deal did not materalise.

Clearly SL is prepaired to pay money on players,but it clearly is KBs job to put these deals together.

Is the root of our problems with KB.

We offered Hull 2.5m for Maguire, that is in the public domain. Hull decided that they didn't want him to go at that time and the player wasn't keen on the move so that was that. Why start a conspiracy theory ? Anyway, we may well be back for him for all we know.

Where was the sum 2.5 million offered,i was told SC and SB had agreed this deal before SC went on holiday.

I can understand the low opening bid of £1.5m. Anyone with any sense is going to offer a lower amount for starters. If Burt was told we could offer up to £2.5m and then didn't then that's different.

Speculation and media hype doesn't help.

 

Hull paid 2,5m for him a year ago. It would be pretty dumb to offer 1.5m for him. The offer was a straight 2.5m which was rejected.

 

Unfortunately Red Robin is correct........ I was told the exact same thing from a VERY credible source.

Not sure who made the alternative offer weather it was KB or SL instruction to KB, But that was the case.

Steve Bruce rejected the alternative offer and pulled the plug on negotiations as her thought BCFC were trying to take the pi$$....!!

 

Give some indication of what you call 'a very credible source' ? I don't expect a name!

 

Sorry, that makes no sense at all. Hull rate the player highly after paying 2.5m for him, why the hell would the club offer a million less than Hull paid for him a year ago ? Common sense alone would indicate that would be a stupid thing to do and doomed to failure. I can't see Burt, with all his experience, doing that regardless of credible sources or whatever.

 

I didn't say it made sense.... that is what happened... the highly placed people thought they could get a better deal....

 

As I indicated, Burt, with all his experience, would never make such a hash of it.

How come these 'credible sources' haven't named one incoming player yet this year and got one right before it was done or almost definite??

 

I am 100% sure that my info man and Red Robin are different people, I can assure you that my man is spot on.... If you think I am stupid enough to put on a forum what I am told and who it is from then people seriously need to get out more......
