Sort of, it connects you to the internet via a server based in another country, so to any website/program etc it will look as though you're in that country instead. To put it simply.
There's been an update, you need to download the zip file and upgrade manually, you should be running NBC version 1.0.1
KODI forum suggesting NBC addon changed to stop VPN viewers. Right..... found a much better KODI alternative. Install CAN TV (Watch how to do this on youtube) Choose Channel TSN 3 HD Quality, no VPN needed, no buffering.
Working fine for me. Remember the streams aren't switched on and won't load til they turn blue, usually at KO excepting the big clubs.
I just tested the golf channel. There is a problem, Swansea v Everton wouldn't load. Smartarse's alternative is a good working one, there are also others. Not quite NBC quality but not far off, still far far superior to flash streams.
I tried out this Kodi player, not for me really seems fiddly as hell. Going to use my old tried and tested method of bookmarking streaming sites and watching them via Linux Mint or Ubuntu if I need streams in future, saves all the fannying about and there is hardly any chance of getting viruses/malware that way as they are nearly all targetted at Windows systems
I have found the best way is just use NAVI X its got everything you need from TV and Movies to sport. There are around 2500 different video apps to choose from. Just go through them find the english ones or whatever language you choose and install them on your box or computer. In regards to VPN as far as i am aware it only gives you another IP address through the company the VPN is set up with. On mine i can choose a country from a list so as not to be barred from watching whatever i decide to watch. CTID
Don't believe it does. As far as I can see it's just the luck of the draw, you have to look at all the channels to see what's on. I could be wrong though and I'd be delighted to be corrected! As good as the quality of CANTV and NBC is I'm finding it a bit of a pain finding a channel which is showing games so I've gone back to goatd.net for the past couple. It's not brilliant but you can find it quick.
The CANTV app doesn't show all the games, the TSN channel it has does have every game but half are web feeds which the app doesn't stream. There are plenty of apps that do show every game, the Pheonix one does for a start, not quite at the quality of the NBC app but not far off, which doesn't require a VPN. There's also another addon called vdub or something, among many others.
