Went completely against what Lansdown said about selling to another championship club.

Think the price is silly, should have held out for more. Now have 24 hours to find a replacement.

Think it's a daft move for JK as well to be honest. Villa will be in this division for 3 years at least I reckon. Meaning he will most likely never play a minute of prem football...

You don't think 15 mil is silly money for a championship one year wonder? Good for us of course. The "should have held out for more" was tongue in cheek.

It's better he goes to Villa - a team we have already beaten once. Plus he is off to the African Cup of Nations so they have paid 15m for nothing for a few weeks.

At the time we play them, so won't see him against us now until at least next year, barring his exclusion from Ivory Coast at ACON

Glad we took that sort of money before they had chance to change their minds- We pay £2m, sell for £11m + bonuses and we get 20 goals last season too. Good business I would say..

Cant stop laughing, 15mill for a striker who cannot use his left foot and needs a shed load of chances to score.
Wonder how quickly he gets found out? Deal of the century, bet they are pi--ing them selves laughing in the boardroom
    at the Gate.

Good business as long as the money is wisely spent on competent replacements and not just used to fill in the blanks. An interesting 24 hours approaches us and let's see where it takes us, hopefully to more solid ground and higher expectations.

Most expensive championship player to date, I find that laughable, excellent bit of business, but we live in silly money times.

I hope this Russell deal is nonsense though, we need to buy foreign again.

We finally arrive at a spot where we agree that this was good business before it became a NM Mk2 and yet the timing to find a replacement is at the worst time possible. Spending ridiculous money to replace our best ever transfer out doesn't make much sense, but it's just the way the cookie crumbles and we become victims of our own success. Perhaps the replacement has already been signed and sealed, but not yet delivered, to surprise us all and it would appear that most of the ones touted in the media have gone to homes elsewhere.

    A shot on Balotelli anyone????

That's why any number of freebies would be better in my book, let that 20 odd mil gain some interest, and sign some want away striker or well scouted striker after Xmas. Sign someone today or tomorrow with the money people know we have, we are paying minimum of 50% over what they are worth.

I think we've already got the replacement lined up, we've the young swede Gustav Engvall lined up already and I suspect another to be signed before tomorrow night.

Are you talking about this Russell? The one that looked a handful at home to us last season?

Going down the gate on wednesday to the official launch party for the new Lansdown stand.
Will be interesting to see who is down there press and in comings.

I think he would be a good shout, but Rhodes is up for grabs so I wouldn't rule him out either. Also maybe a sneaky bid for Britt Assombalonga maybe.

My wife had a meeting a few years ago in a Cardiff hotel on transfer deadline, and there was a group of people on phones and players milling around to be bought or sold. She didn't recognise anyone but said it was interesting to see it.
So you might see them coming in or leaving whilst down there.
