Well its a forum and it will be hard to see who the clubs and offers are if you do not reveal them. Derby are not premiership so who was?
I'll do it for you.. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...-ready-to-break-transfer-record-with-14milli/
Mark Ashton confirmed it on the official site. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/kodjia-departs-for-villa-in-club-record-sale-3280055.aspx
I wonder what the additional £4m is made up of? Presumably most of it would be if Villa were promoted. What's also worth noting is that there's a sell-on clause on top as well, so who knows what we might end up getting if Kodjia thrives and gets snapped up by an even bigger club. Kudos to the club for getting a great deal.
Yes I can also confirm with a link that Kodjia would only be sold to premiership clubs. doubt any premiership were in for him. standard ruse to push the price up.
The sell on is only a % of the profit as it reads and not of the total value of any future deal. In that regard selling to a Prem club would have been better as a good season of goals at that level and teams will easily pay £20M+, difficult to see anyone paying more than £12M if he has an unbeliveable season in the Championship, so I'm not holding out too much hope of raking in much cash from any future sell on fee.
You think Mark Ashton telling us that we turned down bids from the PL after the sale of Kodjia is pushing the price up?
You never know though - just look at Bolasie. Ask most City fans if they thought he'd end up moving for £25m when he left us...
Always liked Bolasie, and i clearly said at the time he would go on to bigger and better things than Adomah at the time. Sadly one that never got the chance at the club when here.
I am sure he was on the blower saying things like "well a b and c are in for him you will have to do better than that" to get a drop more on top. Looks good for him to sex it up once its done.
I wouldn't bother mate, he asked for them to be revealed despite heavy media coverage almost everyone has seen and then denies it was them when its revealed??
Hadnt seen them. If Sunderland had come up with tem million plus sure Mr Lansdown would have seen it he was of to the Premiership as he said he would be v a rival championship side. Still would doubt that there was anything in it. City have a touch here and for once have got it right. I was on the A bus when the first Derby thing surfaced all were going sell sell sell good but not that good.
My original point here that seems to have been missed by most was (and I have stated) that the offer was way too good to turn down but even through his antics to get the move the player is not 'rubbish' and despite everyone quite rightly having their own opinion on his shortcomings, I believe he is and will continue to be a very good player who's 20 goals undoubtedly went a very long way to keeping us in the Championship last year. I, for one am happy to thank him for that. his journey was always going to be brief with us but he leaves us in a better position than when he arrived.. I hope we don't miss his 20 goals too much, Someone who works in his industry believes he is worth a lot of money. We will see.
