She doesn't. Koeman was asked a question in an interview which he answered, as far as we know (and history would show) honestly. Would you guys rather he'd stayed silent, or said "well there's no point answering because it's unlikely to happen" in order to keep a Pompey fan and a Boruc-obsessive happy?
All I'm saying is, don't read too much into it. Of course he was going to say something like that and you have no way of knowing how genuinely he meant it, but if he walks the walk (to go back to my previous post), then fair play to him.
I may be naïve but I believe him when he says he will honour his contract. Who knows if Barca will come calling in the next 2 years? He was asked the question and gave a straight answer. Good enough for me.
LauraB, I've always engaged you and your posts. You are rapidly sounding like a bitter and twisted jilted lover. Give it a rest, it's becoming boring. Time to move on.
Not really. I just think Koeman is one of the few who means what he says. His previous conduct at clubs backs this up.
Exactly. And that's all we have to go on. Staggering how some people are trying to turn this into a negative!
Heard it all before. Let's face the reality that Koeman isn't long term and his head will be turned at some stage (probably will be Barca at some point) but I refuse to blindly follow these comments after the behavior of "Mr Southampton" and Dejan Lovren who spouted the same ****e to us which we all lapped up.
He turned down Barca to see out his contract at Ajax and he has said at least 3 times that he always honours contracts. I don't expect him to extend his contract (sadly), but I trust that he will be here for another 2 years.
Yeah but who wouldn't want to live in Holland? Also, why does Laura seem to love/obsess over Boruc so much? I know she's a Celtic fan and he played for them, but I've yet to post on the Stoke or Crystal Palace boards and Wilson and Ward were former Pompey youth players
Move on yourself. If you can't engage in a valid point cause your so far up your gaffers bottom that is your problem not mine.
Think you will find your fellow posters are boruc obsessed. I've never mentioned him Seems making a valid point because it isn't what a saints fan wants to hear isn't welcome
Think what's annoyed people the most is the fact that you're saying Koeman is a liar because you don't like that he dropped your boyfriend rather than a lack trust, Laura B.
You are seriously being pathetic, you really are. There is only one person on here up someone's bottom... We just don't know if it's Artur's bottom or you are he and it's your own! I'm fed up of being polite and engaging you in conversation, just wish you'd bugger off. Hopefully you will when Artur has no more ties with the club.
Do remind me what the valid point is, because I can't see it anywhere? Actually...on second thoughts, don't bother. I actually hope you are Boruc because it's precisely the kind of egotistical stunt that would sit behind Koeman's discomfort having him in a team set-up. We'll likely never know, but here's the thing. It's irrelevant because he's not coming back. Here's hoping that spreads to his fans.
For what it's worth, I think ya'll being a bit harsh on Laura. She says herself that she doesn't believe managers who come out and state things like they'd never leave because they invariably do. A view may not be popular, but that doesn't necessarily make it invalid, especially when it's based on reality and the reality is, there is a distinct lack of loyalty in football. Whether Koeman is an exception or not remains to be seen. Though if he did reject Barca at Ajax, that won't necessarily mean he'd reject them a second time if they came knocking when he's Southampton manager. There were no doubt a whole range of considerations within the Koeman household that were taken into, er, consideration to lead to his decision. Some of those considerations may be applicable today, some maybe not. Who knows. We're unlikely to know either way.
