This.. AGAIN For some reason, the majority of your fans seem to be judging Allardyce by his time at Newcastle. That was then and this is now. I noticed at West Ham his team played decent football and that has certainly been the case with us. Anybody who thinks that all we do is play boring long ball football, needs to look again. We don't, and I've enjoyed the football we have been playing since he came in. You might not have enjoyed Sams signings at Newcastle, but he has gave us Kone, Kirchhoff and Khazri for 15 million. We could probably already make a 20 million quid profit on them. I've been impressed with all three and if he can add 3 or 4 more like that in the summer, I genuinely think we'll finally have a boring mid-table finish
Yeah, I'm making the point he can get wrong, it doesn't mean he will at Sunderland, IT IS AN APPROPRIATE POINT WHEN TALKING ABOUT SAM ALLARDYCE. He might sign some good players and get you up to mid table, fair play if he did. Not going to judge your football, as I didn't see that much of it, but I know what I've seen at him in the past and can remember walking out of grounds with a stiff neck because of long balls, never happened with any other manager, don't call me a liar because you weren't there.
This is probably the big difference, at Sunderland he was able to choose the players he wanted , That is most likely what Rafa is trying to change now before making a decision
Changing tack slightly.....I heard that Petula Clark was headlining at St.James Park singing "doon toon"!!!
Allardyce was at Newcastle right at the start of the Ashley regime and I'm pretty sure the signings were Sam's. Remember this was even before the true extent of the debt was realised by Ashley. Before Dennis Wise and certainly before the shoestring budgets were brought in.
Another thing that is overlooked Sam achieved this after loosing an international winger,( cannot remember offhand exactly why he left)
He usually underperformed and who is to say he didn't cost us points and that we wouldn't have turned some of our defeats and draws with him in the side, into wins if he hadn't have been playing?
