Maybe a load of crap, but I wouldn't worry too much about it if he did go........ http://the72.co.uk/73463/cardiff-city-planning-sell-striker-months-signing/
Really wouldn't surprise me, or as you say, bother me either. Past it. Too slow and nowhere near as prolific as we need in front of goal. Panic buy by Trollope, although I was over the moon when we signed him. To be honest, even as a last 15 minute impact player, he impacts nothing. Probably on a sizeable pay packet as well. I'd definitely look at off loading.
http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...ambert-to-bring-lambert-to-wolves_290126.html I think there may be some substance to that rumor you posted Sparky.
Was unsure where to put this as we don't have a "General Football" sticky thread. http://www.insidewelshfootball.co.uk/former-cardiff-city-striker-links-dave-jones-hartlepool/ Chopra training with Hartlepool.
He's been a major disappointment. His miss v Barnsley aside, he looks like he's knackered most of the time. But if he goes we would be left with Fred Zahore and Healey as recognised strikers. City need to get another 15-17 points with some harsh fixtures coming up. So if Lambert goes then I would expect a replacement to come in.
I can imagine he's on a decent pay, so will definitely free up some funds for wages and we should get at least £500k - £750k for him. I'm sure there are plenty of premiership strikers out there who aren't getting game time, crying out for a club to come to for the rest of the season!
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-linked-surprise-move-12497742 Cardiff City have been linked with a shock move to bring on-loan Leicester City attacker Tom Lawrence back to Wales. The Welsh international is currently out at Ipswich and is banging in goals on a regular basis recently, being voted the club's fans' player of the month two weeks ago. He's been in serious form of late, scoring five goals in his last five matches for the Tractor Boys and he's been attracting interest.
Saw that a few minutes ago - you beat me to posting it Jay. He has done well for Ipswich, scoring a couple of crackers and last week it seemed like he was taking on Lincoln on his own. However, he didn't inspire me last season - possibly the Slade effect? I see him in the same category as Emyr Huws - a Wales Squad fringe player who can flatter to deceive - or in Huws' case, doesn't even flatter. Has something inspired Lawrence to turn a corner in his game and could Colin work with and improve on that? Can we risk £1m on him or perhaps there is some sort of deal to be done to bring him in rather than Hayes. Hayes being an unknown quantity south of Scotland. Looks like there could be some bigger players than us in for Lawrence and would he want to return to a place where he had little success?
I think Col could get him working, he's proving his talent at Ipswich at the moment and lets be honest, no one under Slade were very inspiring. See what happens. I can't see him wanting to come back mate.
http://the72.co.uk/73565/wolves-interested-in-pne-striker/ The Daily Mail understands that Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to make a £2million bid for Preston North End forward Callum Robinson. It is believed that Cardiff City and Fulham are also keen on snapping up the 21-year-old, but Wolves will try to get in quickly and give Preston the first decision to make.
From what I saw of him, I didn't rate Lawrence at all last season. Having said that, a few goals and some decent performances can lift a player in a way that a manager like Slade could never achieve. At least he can run at defences and cause a bit of panic rather than playng the ball sideways or backwards. The trouble seemed to be he had no end product. Once he'd surged forward he ran out of ideas and nore often than not gave the ball away. From where we are now, I'd rather pursue him for arounf the 1 mill mark than up our offer for Hayes. He's much younger and can improve - with Hayes at 29, you get what he's got at the moment and I very much doubt that's a better option than Lawrence.
Hmmmm, not a prolific scorer (17 in 84) and do we have £2m to spend? Here's his Wiki info: - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callum_Robinson Wolves have money to burn and perhaps they want him and Lambert so Rickie can be his mentor.
I'm also hoping we don't sign him. Not prolific enough, but Warnock, much like DJ is known to get the most out of his players.
