If you went back 30 years, the experience in Ellerslie Road would be almost exactly the same apart from the prices of a seat and a half time pint. Even the khazis smell exactly the same.
According to Google Maps the walk from White City is .9 mile as compared to .4 mile to LR. So a little over twice as far. As the closest and best connected football club to the West End I'm convinced our future in a bigger stadium is very much intertwined with hospitality and the tourist trade so while this may not seem a lot it could well be a factor in the clubs's appeal.
Some bits from ex-chief SimonCrane http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...s/qpr-linford-christie-stadium-tough-12586906 http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/qpr-new-stadium-club-look-12584904
I must admit that looking at that map it looks a bit further than I thought. I was going on the walk from Du Cane Road to White City & didnt' realise the LC stadium was that much further. It didn't look it on my A-Z!
if building there is going to prove to be difficult how did they manage to build it in the first place
Yeah, that's where we go mostly before games. Sadly, the North Pole just up the road is now a Tesco or some such.
lt makes perfect sense to look to build st the LCS....still in W12, not bad for location and transport, close to Westfield, easy access away from area after game, very little housing areas to annoy, green field site all round......the only fly in ointment would be proximity to hospital........ Never know but tfl may sanction the building of a station at scrubs lane for match day use only.....half way between shepherds bush and Willesden junction.......What's not to like? Make it a 25k stadium with room to expand, build an athletics track and community stadium next door......win win.
Nearest Station is East Acton, and theres a great pub near there called The Western although I haven't been there for a while!!!!!
