Not so sure....although I agree to a point........Admittedly I have only been talking to a couple of lower league teams about the saga. From their prospective they would be a bit cautious so I am assuming it would be the same higher up the league.

Fans would be skeptical yes, I doubt board/owners would as it seems a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Fair comment...........I know a part owner and a couple of coaches (or ex coaches) if you see what I mean. One I bumped into on the cruise, one of the others used to coach my son. Interesting discussions...........

 

The other thing to consider is the higher up the league you go the less appealing moves become to players. If VVD was at, say, Chelsea then there would be very few teams that would cause him to act this way (probably only Real Madrid tbh).

 

Again a fair comment.....but the guy from Chelsea is kicking up a fuss for a move...not forgetting Courtino at Liverpool. It does happen with the bigger teams although granted not so often. Wasn't there a guy from City last year or the year before??. Must admit though it doesn't happen as often now as it used to.

So far he's been a model pro, no fuss has been kicked up at all. That could change but as things stand it's not a fair comparison on his part.
His pre-season is going extremely well, no drama at all.

I think he's saying it in anticipation rather than he's doing it now.

What pisses me off about this whole saga is that I have come to accept that we are a selling club and it is all part of the business model and people come to us to shop for new players but they usually do it the normal way and come in through the door and say "I would like to buy so and so and how about this for an offer?". Not Liverpool though. They went about shopping in the usual Scouser way by putting a brick through the shop window first.

 

I agree.....The point I was making though was that even the large clubs have players that want to leave.......

 

It could be a case that loads of people are just ignoring you, but haven't gone to the trouble of putting you on ignore...you'll have to try harder to be properly ignored

 

I'm not really bothered tbh, just if I knew who had actually placed me on ignore I could quote them giving abuse knowing they can't report me
