I think Monkhouse is playing due toi his height and experience. Certainly cant be for ability! Today was the worst I have seen from him.

Taylors sho in injury time should have tested the keeper not hit straight a him.

A controversial moment in the Grimsby game. Linesman flags for a Welling penalty. Ref disagrees and doesn t award it!!

    Welling just hit the bar.

Barnets keeper made a super save to keep the lead.

    No luck going our way.

A draw seemed likely today. But we stand a good chance of getting max points from here on in...

Alfreton have had 60 per cent of the possession. They were leading in the reverse fixture when they had a player sent off, so this one isn't over. But it looks like Grimsby have pushed us into third.

Apparently our unbeaten run away from home is the best since 1973...

thats both welling and alfreton had pens appeals while 1-0 down. could have been all different if refs show some bottle.

Alfreton got a last minute goal and it ended 1-1. Great news. However Grimsby won. So Grimsby are the winners today.

    Table now is...

    Barnet 79
    Grimsby 78
    Rovers 78

    Grimsby ahead on goal difference.

    5 games to go.

Barnet and Grimsby need to slip up once and we need to win all 5.

Barnet will slip up more than once. They can't beat eleven men! Grimsby will probably slip up, but I'm less sure about them because they're in decent form. I thinks it's between us and Grimsby to be honest...

It was fitting that the late goal they conceded was by a penalty <laugh>

I'm not sure that Monkhouse had that bad a game compared to most of our other players, because his partnership with Brown on the left was much more effective in an attacking sense than Leadbitter and Balanta on the other side.

if his kicking and distribution massively improve, he could be a very good keeper.

That is because Balanta is useless - Sorry, but I have seen nothing of note from him since he joined

I thought Balanta and Ledbetter did pretty well. Their winger (Moke?) was a handful and they kept him quiet, and Leadbetter bombed forward a few times. Everyone struggled going forward and when Dawson came on he hardly got a kick, because Macclesfield defended so well.
