Seriously, after his fringe experience at Chelsea you'd expect him to be keen to extend his stay here and continue to develop with the team. After all it's taken him to the fringe of Spains squad. I do think he's one of those players that needs regular starts to be at his best, if big Vic had stayed I think that would've been unlikely. But hey ho, gird your loins as we stumble towards the Jan window and an under pressure big club manager looks to one of our players for salvation, money as always talks even if we like to think it doesn't.

Bloody good buy though.

We don't actually know if the club have discussed a contract with Romeu. For all we know Romeu could well be waiting and hoping talks begin soon!

 

I have heard Bertrand will be fit for Chelsea. I guess that means we can play McQueen again on Wednesday? (Depending how knackered he is!)

 

He looked like he was struggling towards the end yesterday so maybe Targett if he is ok?

...and I have to highlight a skill that I often spot in Forster but rarely mention - his time wasting. He's a magnificent time waster. When Saints need tension taken out of a game or, in the case I've been looking at, VVD has a head injury off Kompany, and Forster goes to take his goal-kick, but walks up to the ball and decides to check the turf around it. And he makes it look as if it is 100% necessary. All the while, VVD is recovering and ready to return to action. The crowd groans, opposition players tap their left wrists, but Forster takes it to the limit. So instead of Saints being about a minute or so without VVD they are only a few seconds without him. Crafty Fraser.

 

He did take it too far and got booked for it in the end though!

 

But he's still brilliant at it.

Just paused it near the end of the game, and Forster is standing, bent over the ball, with his hands all around it, refusing to pick it up, with Sterling about 15 feet away, And Forster is waiting for Sterling at attempt to get the ball. Sterling makes a proper move forward and Fraser picks the ball up. But he's wasted a good 15-20 seconds or so. Quite amusing..

 

So timewasting is okay when we do it but we still slate others for it?

 

How many bookings does Forster have this season so far for timetwasting?

And how many for a suspension?
