Lukaku's finish was amazing and Rashford looks like he means business. Hopefully this translates very well into the season for both of them. I am not even concerned about Lukaku. He is one of few strikers with strong left and right which will give him tremendous options with the supply he's going to get from the midfield. And that pass by Mkhitaryan! I expect a big second season from him. He is an amazing player.

As for Rashford, it looks like Mourinho has a lot of faith in him. If we can get 15 goals from him this term and at least 20 from Lukaku, we should have a very good season. I hope Mourinho allows Martial to grow into the left side and not press for Ivan to come in.

Overall, great pre-season so far. Don't let the clowns tell you that it is "only pre-season". Had we lost today, the same clowns would have been on our backs. You only have to read about the reactions when Lukaku didn't score in his first game which he only played for 30minutes.

Martial will have to step up now that the perisic deal seems to have died from inter's greed.

Good player but suffered from personal problems last season. Fingers crossed for this season.

Good morale boosting result. Psychologically could be important when we next meet. Less sense of inferiority which we seem to have had since Ferguson left.

That might well be so but had Lukaku not scored it would be used as proof that he IS a flop,

I wonder how many players Pep's asking for today to make a challenge for the league title.

If Herrera is vice captain in Carrick's absence, why did Antonio Valencia captain the side last night?

By the way, I'm staying at my youngest daughter's flat in Chorlton tomorrow night. Any recommendations on good bars there (that sell Carling <laugh>)

Dunno about Carling but there's quite a few good bars there, my Mrs usually goes to Laundrette I'm sure your daughter will know it. The Font is ok, quite busy. Serves Brooklyn Summer Ale on tap, but if you're looking for Carling... try The Co-op.

We have a good h2h record against City since Ferguson retired baring under Moyes, who was awful.
